I called the company and spoke with [redacted]. He stated that they offered to put the Coin in a bigger envelope and the consumer did not want to do that. The Coin was mailed in a regular small envelope with no insurance. When the envelope left the business, it was the way the consumer dropped it off....

After it leaves their business, without insurance they are not able to anything.

Review: I shipped 2 packages with 2 items in 2 different standard mailing envelope from the Parcel Plus on 07 FEB 2014. One envelope arrived at its destination and one did not. I went back to the Parcel Plus place where I shipped the items. The man (not the manager) told me what was in my envelope and that because I didn't buy insurace, there was nothing he could do about it. I suspect, but cannot prove, that one of the items was stolen somewhere along the line. The items were: A check and a [redacted] Coin, which cannot be replaced. My brother, who was to receive the package got a mangled envelope inside another envelope stating the original envelope was damaged. In the envelope was a mangled check and no Coin.Desired Settlement: I would like to recover the Coin. If the item has been stolen by either Parcel Plus or someone in the [redacted], there really is no resolution. If the Coin still is recoverable, I want a phone call so that I can tell them where to ship the Coin.

Review: I recently went in to Parcel Plus to drop off a package to be sent via UPS. The employee gave me back incorrect change which I did not notice until I went to the next retailer across the street. I went back into the store to confirm my purchase total and advise her that I was shorted $10.00. She was unempathetic and immediately told me that was not correct. She advised me that she had not rung up a previous purchase yet so she was over $5 but that she was not over by $10. She told me she would have to count her drawer so I waited as she manually calculated the cash drawer. She advised me again that she was not over by $10, only $5 and did not offer a solution. I advised her this was not acceptable and she acted as if there was nothing she could do as she was right. I advised her that it is not fair I am short $10 and she offered to give me the $5 extra that she was over. I asked her why the customer does not get any benefit of the doubt and she chuckled. I gave her my number and advised her she should call me when she reconciles her drawer and sees she is over. She stated, "if it is over". I do not appreciate a business having such a terrible attitude towards their patrons. I do not think it is fair that she immediately felt as if I was wrong prior to checking and I had to ask her to count her drawer.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the additional $5. I suspect this will not happen, in that case I wanted to ensure this was filed so another consumer can get this information and will not fall victim to this type of situation if such unethical behavior is a pattern of this establishment.

Re: Revdex.com Complaint ID: [redacted]

Dear **. [redacted]:

I reviewed the customer complaint referenced above, and, although it is not a true representation of the events of the two visits by this customer, I am willing to refund the additional $5 requested by her solely as a gesture of good will.

The customer offered me a $5 bill in payment of a $1.50 purchase, and I returned $4.50 in change for the $5 to her. A few minutes later she returned and claimed she had given me a $10 bill rather than a $5 bill. I assured her that was not the case, and offered to cash out my drawer in support of that statement. I immediately did so, right there in front of her. The drawer was not over, but I offered her $5 in the interest of customer relations. She took the $5, and as far as I knew, the matter was resolved until I received your letter.

I did not respond to a previous attempt to contact me (by e-mail and by mail) because I did not receive said communications. Certainly I would have contacted you, because I take the ratings of the Revdex.com very seriously.

Please let the customer know that she can claim the additional $5 at her convenience in order to resolve this unfortunate misunderstanding. (This means I have paid her $14.50 to come into my business.) I will leave the money in the cash drawer in an envelope addressed to her should I be out of the store when she comes by.

In no way do I consider my customers “victims.” In fact, I pride myself on exceptional customer service. I’m disappointed that this customer felt otherwise. Apparently we can’t win everyone.

Sincerely,
