Review: Paint splatter all over stairs as well as areas that were not prepped also the fact that the water stain was not primed before painting so therefore its still visible. Also still owe money for the chandelier.Desired Settlement: At this point since [redacted] came out and all he wanted to do was complain about what I was asking I feel like there's no need to try to get them back to finish the job I would like however for them to pay me the money that is owed for the chandelier as well as refund partial money so I can get these issues taken care of by somebody else

Response:

Our company had dumb work for [redacted] previously and with no complaint. He was quite happy with the job. He had his return to do estimates on his living room hallway bathroom foyer. When we arrived at his home to do the job, he took David aside told him he could not afford to have all the work done. He asked David to take an area off and lower the price on the remainder of the job so that he can afford to do the work and sell his home. So David did indeed lower the price for Mr. [redacted]. At the end of the day when the job was done and all was completed he walked the job with our supervisor and said everything looked fine and proceeded to pay us. In the course of a job one of the globe in a chandelier in the foyer was broken. The auditions were adamant that they want to globes that were identical to what they had in the current chandelier. After searching for an identical globe we found that with the globe being manufactured in 1979, it was unlikely we would find one that was identical. With that being said, we offered and did purchase a new chandelier for them. They picked it out and we contracted [redacted] to do the installation of the chandelier. Because the chandelier they chose was smaller at the top then the one prior, we had to either go back and paint around the top of the globe or install A do the installation of the chandelier. Because the chandelier they chose was smaller at the top then the one prior, we had to either go back and paint around the top of the globe or install A medallion. They chose to have my dad did not write they chose to have the medallion. We had [redacted] install the medallion. After The chandelier was installed, Mr. [redacted] began calling us saying that he had numerous complaints regarding the paint work. Due to other clients being scheduled and our vacation we did take longer than normal to get back out there. We returned to his home at 10 AM expecting to have a list of items he was unhappy with and we're prepared to touch up any places that he wasn't happy with. However did not have a list he was on his hands and knees looking for places that he was not happy with. He did show David a spot in the ceiling in the foyer where water leak had left a stain on the ceiling. David told him that in his opinion he still had a leak and it was a freshwater spot. However he would be glad to have Mr. [redacted] make a list of that (even though it was not our fault) and anything else he was unhappy with and we will come back and take care of each item. As we did not have a ladder with us That would reach this foyer ceiling. David began to clean the steps before him and proceeded to tell Mr. [redacted] that the spots what under the polyurethane on the steps and not on top of it, which meant that it wasn't our paint and since it was under the polyurethane it would not come off. There were tiny specs that could hardly be seen. When David explained this to him Mr [redacted] became belligerent and loud so David told him we were going to leave because we did not want confrontation. Mr. [redacted] begin cursing David calling Him a thief, and proceeded to follow us out stai and proceeded to follow us outSide . He was directly behind David bumping up against him on the way to the car, and he proceeded to bump David against the car with his chest. All the while calling David a mf and screaming at the top of his Lungs about Pardue painting company. Pick up telling David to hit him and antagonizing David. But David told him not to touch them again and to just go in the house. We proceed to leave them at your [redacted] jumps in front of my car with the paint can it's time I thought he was going to dump the paint on my car but he didn't after I told him not to. He then as we were backing out proceeds to open the hatch of my car stating that were trying to steal his paint can lid. I got out of the car and told him the lid was in the house which is where the paint was and for him to please just leave us alone and let us go. We are in dispute with him as far as the $50. Because we went above and beyond on replacing that chandelier and the medallion all of which we paid for . We do not feel him $50 due to the fact that they were explicit and wanting the exact same type of chandelier with clear glass in the chandelier they purchased looks nothing like the one that was taken down. We do not feel him $50 due to the fact that they were explicit and wanting the exact same type of chandelier with clear glass in the chandelier they purchased looks nothing like the one that was taken down. [redacted] informed us that he was unhappy with them as well complaining. They are as we are a reputable company in this area and take pride in their work. That is why we chose them to do his work . David considered filing assault charges against Mr. [redacted], however he felt It wasn't worth having to deal with him anymore. We will use the Revdex.com for mediation on this complaint however unjustified it is. We have the Old chandelier in our possession, as well as receipts from [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] is in possession of the original receipt from the chandelier as he purchased it and we wrote him a check to pay for it. We do have a copy of the check to provide if needed.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

There are several reasons as to why I do not accept their response. first let me start with the fact that yes the first job they did for me was great. That is when they had someone with experience doing the work. Come to find out per Gayle they had 3 new people on the this job. Second I did not handle the situation as well as I should have. now as far as Gayle and David's account of everything it is not 100% honest. Lets start at the beginning, at no point did I ever tell David I could not afford to have all the work done. I told David that we did not want the hallway painted due to the fact we are trying to sell the house and I did not want to spend the money on it and I had asked him about painting the hall bathroom ceiling. He advised in order to paint the bathroom ceiling it would cost $75.00 more, and I agreed to. However they did not paint the ceiling they touched it up. As for the chandelier this had twelve globes. yes we were adamant about the globe that broke to match the other eleven globes. I was advised by Gayle that they had found the globe but they would have to buy the complete chandelier which I was told by Gayle cost over $1000.00. I advised Gayle that I would see what I could find. After making trips to [redacted] and looking online I could not find a globe that would macth. So we (my wife and I) decided it would be cheaper to replace the chandelier then to replace all of the globes. I even communcated this to Gayle. I am still a little confused as to how Pardue painting went above and beyond over something they broke. As for when I first complained to Gayle that was well before the chandelier being replaced. which leads us up this. The reason I did not have a list for David was due to the fact that they were scheduled to come out before at which time I had gone and put blue painters tape on the areas of concern. Well nobody showed up are called . I texted Gayle several days later to be advised that they had a bunch of guys out sick with the flu. So we rescheduled and then it was the weather so we reschulded and then it was the fact the daughter's car broke down and we rescheduled and then it was the weather again. So I think after the third reschedule I removed the tape. Upon arriving David appeared in a hurry. He came in rushing yelling at Gayle to right stuff down and he would get started on trying to clean the paint splatter. Which they didn't even bring any towels they had to get from me and they kept. when I pointed out the fact the water stain in the foyer was still there David yelled something to the fact I wish I would have known that I didn't bring any Kilz. David never stated anything about not having a ladder or advising that in his opinion I still have a leak. Which I don't that stain was on the ceiling when we moved in in 2007 and was the main reason I hired a contractor to paint was because I hate painting ceilings. As I continue to go over things with Gayle David is going on about the paint on the stairs. he kept saying that was done before the polyurethane was put on. I kept trying to tell David that the steps were staind and finished by [redacted] before being inslalled. If the paint was under the polyurethane it would not come off. Yet I can get the paint off But he stated something to the fact that he wasn't going to spend all day cleaning and that you could barly see it. That is when things escalated. As far as the out come of this yes I would like the money that is owed for the chandelier as well as a partial refund due to the fact iI still need to have the bathroom ceiling painted as well as the foyer ceiling.Again I am not happy with the way I handled things but I have been honest in my statement.

Regards

Response:

In response to Mr [redacted]'s comments. I requested a copy of the receipt from where he purchased the chandelier, and have not received it. I have the original contract and there is nothing regarding a bathroom. I also have text messages that I will have printed out to show that Mr. [redacted] was happy with all of the work when we left. Although the ceiling was kilzed and painted we were willing to return yet again to take care of that water spot coming through for him, He has had a leak of some sort that has caused the new water spot. After all the hoopla ever the them wanting the same identical type of chandelier he purchased one that is nothing like the original. We spent weeks searching all over Virginia and on the web trying to find one that was identical. We have gone above and beyond for him and after his assault and violence on David Pardue, we no longer feel obligated to him for any reason, and want this situation to end.David has not pressed charges against him although we were advised he should do so. I will be showing proof of all the transactions between us and the client by Tuesday.

in ref to the chandelier the " HOOPLA" was about wanting the globe that your company broke to match the other eleven globes. I was not going to have eleven globes of one style and a globe of another style. Again I find it interesting that you think you went above and beyond to try and fix something your company broke. I will be more then happy to provide you with a receipt. In reference to the contract when David was here I spoke to him about removing the hallway and we discussed adding the bathroom ceiling he stated it would be $75.00 for painting the bathroom ceiling and I agreed to. Unfortunately I did not save text messages between us due to the fact I did not think this would be an issue. However there was issues brought up to Gayle early on. Again I have several areas that need corrected therefore I would like a partial refund so that I can hire another contractor to complete the work. .

Response:

First of all, we never told Mr. [redacted] we would only replace one globe. We were replacing all twelve so they would match. I do have all the text messages and the paperwork for all of the transactions. David did not have texting on his phone so I know he did not correspond with David by text. I will be bring in all of the paperwork and copies of the text messages where he clearly stated that he was happy with the work and the fact that he is too picky which were his words not mine. We will bring a check for 51.00 to your office this morning, and this is the end of our transactions with him.

Regards,

Review: I made a $1,563.90 down payment for a pressure wash and house painting job to include a shed and pavilion. I was told the work would commence no later than August 26, 2015. I was contacted by Gayle Pardue that rain would cause a delay. I agree and let this pass. I have been contacted by Mrs. Pardue several times since then giving more excuses for not starting the project.

The workers finally showed up in early November to do the pressure washing. The job was mediocre, at best.

They haven't returned to do any painting and pollen and dirt have accumulated on all areas that were power washed and, therefore, any painting will not properly adhere to these areas.

Mrs. Pardue has since ceased all communications with me. If I reach her I will just get another excuse for the delay.

The deposit check was cashed September 25 in the amount of $1563.90Desired Settlement: I would like the entire $1,563.90 returned since the job will have to be started over from the beginning. All areas need to be power washed again because of pollen and dirt re-accumulating.

Thanks, [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.

Excellent, Fantastic company! The owners are extremely communicative, responsive, and have very fair pricing. The work crew were friendly, and we could not have asked for a better company to stain our entire home (outside). They sealed any cracks or open seams, which we weren't expecting, and were just extremely thorough in their work. Highly recommend this company!

Pardue Painting did an excellent job for us on the exterior of our home. Their meticulous attention to detail, especially caulking and final finish was superb.

You will find David and Gayle very customer service friendly , who constantly communicated with us from start of the job, to an on site visit following job completion. David spends much time on site and "hands on". Their painting crew was courteous and made us feel very good about our interactions with them while on the job site. If we asked for anything, they were helpful and very willing to make sure we were satisfied.

This is an exceptional company providing quality painting at a reasonable price.

We could not be happier with Pardue painting. The whole experience was great. Communication was great, and that is rare sometimes when dealing with contractors. They did everything they said they were going to do, and even went a little above and beyond. Would highly recommend them in the future.
