We are VERY familiar with this customerWe installed their lights in January As the customer points out the fixtures come with a year warrantyWhat he fails to mention is the year warranty is against manufacturers defects not every possible thing that may or may not go wrongThe warranty and exceptions are clearly stated on our websiteIn his case he said some of the wiring had corrodedKeeping in mind all outdoor lights are buried in the ground, you would expect some corrosionHe also fails to mention that if anyone other than a qualified Outdoor Lighting Perspectives technician works on the installed system, it voids the warranty as we cannot be held responsible for something someone else may or may not have done to the systemIn his case he freely admitted he had been changing timers so it is clear that he worked on the system therefore voiding the warranty We were willing to investigate but told him if it was determined to be a none warranty issue (this before he admitted to working on the system and voiding the warranty), our charge is $to come out and fix itHe didn't like that, and became abusive, demanding, and threatened to tell all his friends, the Revdex.com and anyone else he could think of and try and make as much trouble as he could Fortunately this type of issue is very rare and most of the homeowners of the 2,systems we have installed in the [redacted] area are very happy and understand our warranty policyUnfortunately and very occasionally we come up against someone that wants free service for ever more, under any conditions and gets belligerent when they can't get their own wayClearly some people have to much time on their hands or cannot afford the $service charge We are still willing to go to his house on the understanding that it is not a warranty issue because he has worked on, and changed his system from the original specification, and / or corrosion on wire is not a warranty issue and will charge him for the repair [redacted] ***

We are VERY familiar with this customer. We installed their lights in January 2012. As the customer points out the fixtures come with a 10 year warranty. What he fails to mention is the 10 year warranty is against manufacturers...

defects not every possible thing that may or may not go wrong. The warranty and exceptions are clearly stated on our website. In his case he said some of the wiring had corroded. Keeping in mind all outdoor lights are buried in the ground, you would expect some corrosion. He also fails to mention that if anyone other than a qualified Outdoor Lighting Perspectives technician works on the installed system, it voids the warranty as we cannot be held responsible for something someone else may or may not have done to the system. In his case he freely admitted he had been changing timers so it is clear that he worked on the system therefore voiding the warranty.

We were willing to investigate but told him if it was determined to be a none warranty issue (this before he admitted to working on the system and voiding the warranty), our charge is $85 to come out and fix it. He didn't like that, and became abusive, demanding, and threatened to tell all his friends, the Revdex.com and anyone else he could think of and try and make as much trouble as he could.

Fortunately this type of issue is very rare and most of the homeowners of the 2,500 systems we have installed in the[redacted] area are very happy and understand our warranty policy. Unfortunately and very occasionally we come up against someone that wants free service for ever more, under any conditions and gets belligerent when they can't get their own way. Clearly some people have to much time on their hands or cannot afford the $85 service charge.

We are still willing to go to his house on the understanding that it is not a warranty issue because he has worked on, and changed his system from the original specification, and / or corrosion on wire is not a warranty issue and will charge him for the repair.
