Hello Mrs. [redacted],   Thank you for reaching out to us with concerns about your LifeSpan C3i Upright Bike. We were able to locate call logs, previous work orders and photographs submitted to us to help determine the cause of the issues you have experienced. As you are well aware, some of the...

earlier service calls failed to successfully diagnose and fix the issues. It wasn’t until the last visit in October, when the service technician disassembled the housing unit to replace the motor, that it was discovered that the inside of the unit was damp which likely caused the metal components to rust and electronics to malfunction.   It is imperative that the product is used in an indoor environment in low to average humidity and to avoid areas of high humidity as stated in the product owner’s manual. Since the manufacturer warranty does not cover damages caused by excessive moisture it was determined at the time that there were no longer any available options to continue to repair the bike. However, we are willing to make concessions and will do what we can to resolve your issue to the best of our ability. We are willing to offer you a replacement bike at no charge. This will be a brand new, straight from the factory C3i Upright Bike without an accompanying manufacturer warranty. Any future parts replacement or service will not be covered at the expense of LifeSpan/PCE Fitness. We hope that you find this to be a suitable solution.   Kind regards,   PCE Fitness

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by Mr. Preston and Lifespan in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
He has offered a detailed description for the failure reason and is offering to get my treadmill back up to almost new condition for a reasonable price.  I would like to thank this service for being an mediator in this dispute so that both parties could have an acceptable outcome.
Sincerely,

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me, though I utilize the equipment in a climate controlled environment and always have.  The explanation is still not sufficient for my liking and the fact that I bought the equipment BECAUSE it had a 3 year warranty and now it will not when I hardly rode the first one and anticipate the same problems is disturbing.   I suppose the offer will have to suffice and appreciate your willingness to address my concerns.  Please let me know when and how I will be receiving the equipment.  Thank you.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Hello, [redacted]! I’m glad I have some contact information for you now!  For whatever reason the number provided, ###-###-####, has been giving me ‘disconnected’ signals when I’ve attempted to call over the past weeks, so I was unable to get a hold of you.  I sincerely apologize about the...

delay. I was able to speak with [redacted], and after looking into the case a bit more, here is what can be done.  From what I understand, the unit is currently receiving no power, so it is unusable.  The motor was tested, and found to be working, which would point to the MCB(Motor Control Board) as most likely the culprit in this situation.  Upon further investigation it was discovered that the unit was lubricated 2-3 times a year.  That would fall out of the regular maintenance of the unit which needs to be done every 3 months, or 50 hours with 1 oz. of the 100% silicone non-aerosol lubrication, or the minimum of 4 times a year.  The reason why the lubrication is so important is that, without the lubrication, there’s an excess amount of friction between the Deck and the Belt, which causes the motor to work harder to support weight, and causes a higher current draw from the MCB.  If it gets too much, it can prematurely wear the MCB and the Running belt out.   It’s much like changing the oil in your car, if not done properly, it can cause to early deterioration of parts. We do understand the unit was an expensive piece of machinery, so we do want to work with you. Normally the MCB costs $431.36, but we were able to offer a 50% discount to bring it to $215.68.  Further, we can reduce that price to $150.00 even, with $10.95 for shipping. Now, the MCB may be the problem, but the cause is the running belt being worn down, due to the under lubrication.  Normally the Running Belt is $88.20, but we can provide that for absolutely free, to help get this unit working properly. Your total cost would be $150.00 + $10.95 S&H – and it would be a new (Not a refurbished or used), a new MCB and a new Running belt for free.  Let me know if you would like to proceed with this, and we can get you all set up! Thank you, Sincerely,Preston B[redacted]Customer Service ManagerOffice: ###-###-#### Opt.4pb[redacted]@lifespanfitness.com Any advice on proper resolution would be fantastic!
