To Whom it May Concern,
On the day that the complainant came to the shelter, she had previously called telling us that she had two stray cats to bring inLegally, we are required to take city stray cats, but we are not required to take “owner surrenders.” Right now
we are not accepting them at all, because we are quickly approaching our capacity for catsThey brought the first cat in, and when the second cat escaped their vehicle we heard them call it by its nameThis gave us the impression that it was not a stray, but belonged to them
I apologize that I jumped to conclusionsIt was based on the conversation that the complainant had with one of my employees stating that they were bringing us two stray catsUnfortunately, we see many people abandoning their animals and claiming that they are strays, and we simply do not have the capacity to allow that right nowI am sorry that I didn’t give the complainant a chance to explain; we felt we had been given information
