Park Power Reviews (%countItem)

My one year contract with Park Power expired during the Covid 19 Pandemic. To help ensure the virus was not spread in our home, we immediately tossed junk mail, which must have included the Park Power mail. To my surprise, our February & March Electric bill DOUBLED. Park Power doubled their supplier rate. I am retired with no income and my wife is not working due to Covid and has no income. When I called Park Power and explained the situation, they told me "You should have read the letter". They would not lower the Bill, nor would they lower the rate for the month we're currently on. Terrible. At a time the govt is bending and changing rules because of Covid, Park power is saying, "You should have read the letter."

Recently, I inquired with Park Power, LLC in order to find out when my bill emails last year. I was told my contract expired and the rate increased on December 3, 2019. The rate (Electric Chg: KWH @ $0.13990) is over double the rate I paid the month prior (Electric Chg: KWH@ $0.06546). I have been a valued customer since 2017. I have always paid my bill on time and in the full amount. The bill is paid directly from my bank via electronic withdrawal by or before the due date. Energy costs for all the companies have gone down the last two months due to the mild winter, so there is no justification because of the cost to Park Power. When you use the PPL shop app that lists Par Power as an electrical power option this exorbitant rate (KWH @ $0.13990) by Park Power is not even listed as an option, so it must be reserved for there best customers!

When I realized the rate was doubled I called a representative. They said they were unable to help me during this current billing cycle. I voiced my concerns they said that they would expedite my concerns to Park Power, LLC and request a refund. I still have not heard from anyone. These policies By Park Power should be investigated by state regulators.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:They did not provide a refund for the most recent billing month only the 2 prior months. If they provide a refund for the last billing statement received and paid for by us around March 5, 2020 charged at this exorbitant rate, over double the rate we received before, we will accepts their settlement. Thanks for your help.

We received another notice that the customer did not want to mark complaint as resolved until his last month was refunded. Once the billing was posted, we contacted the customer and he accepted his final refund.

Tuesday, January 7th I came home from work to find mail from Park Power (2098 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA, 19008) saying "Thank you for choosing Park Power as your retail natural gas & electric supplier." So today Wednesday, January 8th, I call and get a nice man name Ricardo and I speak to him about the letter. He goes on to tell me that the door to door representative sent in my information stating I had chose them. I explained to Ricardo that I had never spoke with any of his representatives. I asked Ricardo, "Do you have anything with my signature on it? He said. "no." Prior to these two letters coming in I had to call *** because the company *** had fraud-ed me out of money and that will be my next complaint with the Revdex.com that I'll be filing. However, these third party companies need to be reprimanded or some type of action needs to be taken because they can just slide onto your gas and electric bill and you won't know until you get the bill in the mail or via email.

So I go on to speak to Ricardo and I told him that their representatives need to be coached or have more training. You just don't submit someones information so you can get paid. Then he tells me that the escalation dept will contact me within 2 to 5 business days. I work for a call center. Our escalation dept will assist you right then not 2 to 5 business days. I told him while his escalation dept is working on that I'll be notifying the Revdex.com. He can't even call me back because the representative doesn't have my correct phone number.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. After Park Power LLC removes me from there mailing list. Came home 1/14/2020 to a letter from them stating my service has been canceled. Which it should have never begun. I don't want to receive anymore anything from this company.

Regards

I received a bill from a place called park power back in November. I called the company to cancel service because I had never heard of them.Come this December I received another bill from them. I called again to ask them why am I still receiving Bill's when I called last month to cancel, again I never signed up with them. I was told it would be cancelled and someone we ould call me within 5 business days to talk about crediting the bill, since I called a month ago. It's been 2 weeks and I still haven't heard anything. I called today again, the lady told me to just pay the bill and they will send me a refund check in the mail. This place is a fraud, I never signed up for anything from them I even asked them to mail me proof of paperwork with my signature on it and I never received anything. They are trying to force me to pay a bill for services I never signed up for.

Today, Sunday December 1,2019 I opened a letter from PP and L informing me that as of Tuesday December 3, 2019 a company with whom I have never contracted with called Park Power will be providing energy services to me. I was surprised because to my knowledge I have never been even contacted by them. I took the PPL letter as a fair warning by them in case of a situation like this .. but I have never contracted with this company. So I did some research trying to keep an open mind and the first thing which popped up were multiple Revdex.com complaints- in the spirit of the holidays- if lit up like a Christmas tree- one complaint alleges that the company targets deceptive marketing to senior citizens and shen the unsuspecting 90 year old greatest generation person tried to explain that they never authorized switching to a company which charges upwards of twice the rate (please refer to your own complaints on line in one instance a person had negotiated a low rate of $.013 per kilowatt hour - and this “strong arm” company- see another of the numerous complaints- charged them $.06- perhaps this person was especially old? I have a contract with *** until July 2020 and I plan on staying with that company as I have negotiated a good rate

An agent came to my door in the middle of the night, gave me some crazy story about how he routinely stops by on behalf of PECO to assess gas and electric price changes based off of the season. He then demanded my phone in a very stern and borderline terrifying manner, fearful of who he was (I live by myself) I proceeded to hand it to him. He subsequently proceeded to sign me up for 2 contracts without my consent for a company that he told me NOTHING about. Next thing I know, a couple days later I started getting letters in the mail informing me that I switched energy suppliers. I now owe Park Power 5 days of electric, which I didn’t even consent to. This man ILLEGALLY signed me up for 2 contracts that I NEVER
agreed to! This was so completely, unbelievably and disgustingly deceitful and wildly against the law!!! This agent needs to be fired, placed in jail and this company should be investigated! I was taken advantage of and this should be stopped from happening to anyone else!!

After further review, Ms. was visited by a Park Power agent at 6:33pm on 11/5/19. The conduct of this agent is not up to code with Park Power’s marketing standards. Park Power apologies for the experience Ms. had and has cancelled her account before service started.

My energy provider for my electricity was changed to Park Power without my consent and it is double the price of the energy that our local community has chosen as their provider.

A salesperson from this company came into my sister's home to try and get her to switch power suppliers. When she asked my my thoughts, I advised her to wait. He seemed a little too pushy.
At this time he called me a 'RACIST". She asked him to leave her home which he only went onto her porch and started swearing at us. He was asked to keep his voice and words under control as there were kids present, in the parked car in front of the house. He continued to curse and call me a racist. I then took a white child, a black child and a Mexican child out of the car and into the house. He said, "I don't care if you have 10 black kids you are still a Fking racist." I removed the kids to a neighboring house after calling the police. He remained on the street and remained cursing at my sister and husband, who was called for her protection. A PA state trooper came and gave him a citation. No company should hire him. The fact that he works for Park Power is truly disturbing.

A representative, Jeremiah G, Rep ID: 9001, came to my home on a Saturday afternoon and after talking about his product, I said I wanted my sister's opinion because she has lived in the village a long time and also knows a lot about businesses in the area. She thought I should call the electric company on Monday and ask about this Park Company. The representative got extremely agitated and called her racist. I told him that was not right and he should leave. He went out the door and stood at the end of my drive way, yelling and dropping so many F bombs, it was unbelievable. Again we asked him to not swear and he got louder with more racism remarks and more bombs. When I asked him to calm down, he said wasn't it a free F....country and couldn't he F.... say what he F.... wanted. We called to police and he stayed an continued to swear and bait reaction. After 20-30 min. he started to walk away and the police stopped him to get his story and info. We talked to the officer and he took our side and neighbor witnesses. Of course, his company was not open on a Sat. to take my call and when it said to leave a message, I got cut off. This man should not be allowed to rant and cuss like this.

I never enrolled into park power. I started a new account with *** for electric and just 3 weeks ago I find out through *** I have park power and my rates are almost doubled what I should be paying. I was advised through *** that my $202 bill should have been about $110. The last two months I payed double.

They talked me into joining them by giving me a low cost and a gift card. I never received the gift card and the cost was roughly equal to PP&L for one year. After that point it doubled, costing me an additional $100 per month (roughly). They aren't illegal, but they are very willing to hide the truth.
Not a business to be trusted, in my opinion.

I notice a significant increase in my electric bill (over $1,500 in two months). I contacted *** and only to find out my supplier had changed to park power. I then contacted park power and was informed the switch in providers took place March of 2018. I (the account) holder did not authorize this transaction. I cannot afford this however I need my electricity. Please assist me with this matter.

Definitely cheaper than other suppliers. After 1 year no rate changes at all so thank you Park power. Duke energy was charging around 6 cents and with Park My whole family is now saving on our rates. The sales rep was very friendly and courteous to explain things to us. Who knew that Dukes monopoly has ended and that people like myself have choices now. Thanks Park power for saving me money. I highly recommend you all to anyone.

Cheaper than Duke Energy and fixed rates. Customer service is outsourced but the rates you cant beat. .0549 cents for electric is cheaper than Even Duke energy itself. .49 cents for gas is also cheaper than Dukes .56 cents. Can't beat the price and these suppliers are all the same so you may as well go with the cheapest. Happy Ohio customer. Oh yeah baby, Thanks Park for lowering my bill. Even after 1.5 years my rates are still the same.

They are cheaper than Duke Energy and for the last year I have saved around $250.00.
This company is definitely worth trying. Friendly staff and Honest salesperson. Thanks

Representatives from Park Power called ***, 91 years old, and used "strong arm" marketing tactics to get her to select their gas and electric services. At one point *** hung up on the caller and the caller called back. The marketing people also used a two person "tag team" approach until they got her to say, "yes," to their gas and electric contracts.

*** does not want their services and is now stuck in two contracts with Park Power. *** wants the two contracts cancelled immediately.

This abusive style marketing to older citizens of Pennsylvania by Park Power needs to be stopped ASAP.

Thanks,
*** on behalf of

We are on the national do not call registry since January 2017 Park Power contacted us on 02/07/18 after several calls I spoke with them on 02/09/18 at which point I said verbatim "I am going to need you to never contact us again" The following day the same person contacted us and pretended to be from a different company even though it was the same phone number. This incident occurred on 09/10/18.

Received electric bill, was doubled rate without notice. Called company in hopes of resolving issue, was talked down too, asked to speak to a supervisor, was informed he was on phone with other customer but could offer a 50 credit. Waited to speak with him, was told letters were mailed, explained do not live at address. He said it did not matter and ask he could do was small credit for a 299 charge from them. Asked why not called, was told they do not call customers, however, I get calls from companies all the time. Asked to speak to someone else above him and he said he is vp no one else above him. Checked website, he is not listed on it.

Spoke to company. Reached agreemnt.

Park Power increased my utility rate from .069 per KWH to 0.13 KWH. When I talked to the VP Louis D, he claimed they sent 2 letters out to notify me of a rate change. I did not receive these letters, but did receive letters from a competitor power company. I explained that the charges were excessive compared to the market rate of only 0.0799 KWH. His only offer to resolve this issue was to have me sign another contract for 6 months at a lower rate. After reading about Park Power online, we uncovered numerous complaints of this very issue.
