As a business owner of over years and an automotive technician since I was approximately years old, you can imagine [redacted] 's letter is very upsetting to me.First of all, his vehicle was towed into my shop from another shopThis shop had put a fuel pump in his car which did not fix his problemHis car was still not runningThis other shop did not even put the dashboard completely back together as we found parts of the dashboard on the floor and front seat of his vehicleHe must've paid this other shop a lot of money to replace the fuel pump which did not fix his problemI wonder if he contacted the Revdex.com about them.After diagnosing the car for many hours, we determined the problem was much more involved.I had to call in a third-party diagnostic serviceI called [redacted] before I contacted the diagnostic service and I gave him approximate pricesIt's very hard to determine exact prices as it depends on the length of the time it takes to diagnose the problemHe gave me his permission to contact them,so I didThe final diagnosis was a bad computerTo fix the problem it involves buying a new computer and having it reprogrammedI called him and gave him the prices as to what it would cost to do this workI knew it would be a costly repair and there is no way I would ever repair the vehicle without the owners permissionIt took a long time to complete the repair because I had to order the computer, install it and then get the third-party diagnostics company back to reprogram the computerOnce all that was done the vehicle was fixed and running againWe road tested the vehicle and the vehicle ran perfectly fineWe called him, he came in, paid the bill and picked up the vehicleHe was happy because we got the vehicle running for himA couple of days later he returned to the shop with the vehicle because he said it wasn't running properlyI personally test drove it and it felt perfectly fine to meI went two extra steps in an attempt to make [redacted] happyI checked the vehicle over again at no charge to himThen I offered to call the diagnostics company again and ask them if there was anything else they could check to see if anything else could be doneI did call them and spoke to them directlyThey told me they had done everything they could doThe computer had been programmed correctlyThey said if there had been any computer problem, I would have known that before we gave the car back to himThere are two ways to know thisWhen we scanned the computer,which we did, no codes appearedThe second way is to test drive the car, which we did, the car had driven perfectly fineTwo very important things you need to know about this vehicleIt is a Jeep Wrangler with 172,miles on itWhen you drive it, it's not going to feel like a new vehicleAfter we got done repairing this vehicle, it felt perfectly fine considering the age and the mileageHe was fine when he left the shop that day but a few days later he called and was complaining about how much everything costHe said he could've gotten the parts much cheaperI explained to him that labor charges and parts markup are a part of not only my business but any business that deals with labor and partsHe was still very angry and told me he would write the Revdex.com and Angie's list, which he didHonestly, in all my years in business, I have never received such a complaint letterI have never gotten a bad review on Angie's list or on any other online siteI did everything I could humanly do to please himHe has a perfectly good running vehicle againI did not do anything dishonest, improper or unjust and I see no reason to refund him any of his cost.Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to explain my side of the storyYou can email me if you need any other informationMost sincerely yours, Joseph
