I am rejecting this response because: The response from [redacted] is inaccurate. I do not doubt that they have documentation signed by me indicating that I would be responsible for what the insurance company would not pay. But I was told that this was a formality, which I believe is required by insurance rules and is common where a doctor upfront agrees to accept what an insurance company will pay and agrees to write off the balance. On January 21, Laura [redacted] told me that she had checked with my insurance company and that they should receive enough from the insurance company so that I would not have to pay for the [redacted] fees. Also, for them to claim that I was abusive is a total fabrication. I had one conversation with [redacted] about the bill; that was my call on March 21 where I initially called to question the bill. Laura [redacted] immediately became belligerent, but did say she would talk to the office manager and call me back. She did not call back. I called [redacted] 3 times afterwards to speak to Ms [redacted] or the office manager Angela. Each time the receptionist told me they were not available and took a message, but no one returned the call. I have also had a number of conversations with [redacted] 's billing service. Each conversation was very professional and cordial on both sides, but nothing could be resolved. I have never in any way been abusive. It is very sad that [redacted] , and I believe primarily Ms ***, have to stoop so low to make outright lies to try to collect a bill which is not within the spirit of our oral agreement.I would welcome the opportunity to talk directly to Dr [redacted] about this bill. If he wants to handle this in a fair manner, we should be able to resolve this in a short conversation.Alternatively, I would be happy to have an independent arbitrator listen to both sides and decide upon a resolution.

Mr*** was seen by Dr*** for his initial consultation on 1/12/Our customary procedure following a consultation is to check benefits with his insurance companyAccording to his insurance, he had a $deductible for the professional fee and an $deductible for the facilityHe
did not meet either deductible at the time of surgeryOn January 21, 2015, Ms*** spoke with Mr*** at length and he appeared to understand the he was responsible for the $deductible and 10% of the final professional billHe was also responsible for the $deductible for the surgicenterIn fact, he signed a paper that he understood his financial obligations which we have readily accessible for proofThe insurance paid $for the facilityWe reduced his bill from $to $as a courtesy to Mr***This left his final balance to be $456, which Mr*** refuses to payAs another courtesy to Mr***, we had a three way conversation with his insurance company and our billing companyHis insurance company agreed with us that he owed the full $At no time did Ms*** tell Mr*** that he would have no balance with the surgical facilityHe is responsible to pay the balance immediatelyMr*** has been very abusive to our staff and we will have no further conversations with him
