Parker Compound Bows Inc Reviews (3)

The customer is somewhat confused as to what he has.  Mr. [redacted] is under the impression that he has Bushwacker crossbow because of the look of the stock.  That is not correct.  A crossbow is made up of two parts:  a stock and a front-end.  The stock houses that trigger...

mechanism and partly determines the power stroke (draw length) of the crossbow.  The front-end is considered the working part of "bow" of the crossbow.  The front-end design and mechanical set-up also determines the power stroke of the crossbow.  Mr. [redacted] received an improved version of the front-end model that he previously had (Buck-Buster - improved with a slightly higher draw weight).  That improved version stores more energy to be transferred to the arrow when released therefore increasing the speed of the arrow.  However, he did receive a different stock than he previously had because the stock he previously had is no longer able to be manufactured.  The new stock is lighter and offers more safety features but is the same length therefore keeping the same power stroke.  As a result of this front-end and stock combination he received, his crossbow will actually shoot an arrow approximately 10 feet per second faster.  Regarding the complaint of the camoflauge, the camoflauge of his previous bow is no longer produced by the camoflauge company AND [redacted] warranty policy clearly states that camoflauge is not covered. We understand Mr. [redacted]'s disappointment in not having a "fully" camoflauged bow however we believe his warranty situation was fully taken care of according to our stated policy.

I have no choice but to accept Parker Compound Bows response. I will say that  if I were in their shoes I would do the same thing because I am sure that they get played almost every day by someone for something free. And ok I understand the Camouflage warranty. However for me to request a solid bow stock like I had before that is what I like and feel the most comfortable with I really don't think that was too much to ask for from them. Instead I will be settling for a stock that looks like a skeleton or something off of star wars. And my upgraded string I had on my Buck Buster, well that's a loss for me too.  I have done nothing but brag and talk good about Parker bows and have thoroughly enjoyed mine since 2006. I do not think I will be as successful with the Bushwacker due to the design of the stock. Any " Good " hunter will agree that the comfort of any weapon hunting leads to the success in the field.

Review: I purchased a Parker crossbow from [redacted]. The crossbow was defective. Parker shipped me parts and I shipped them the bow, but it was not corrected. [redacted] agreed to exchange the defective bow for a new one. The new bow has exactly the same issues as the original. I do not believe that these problems can be corrected and any replacement bow will have the same problems.Desired Settlement: I believe that Parker should refund the purchase price of the bow since they have been unable to fix it and the replacement had the same issues.

Response:

Mr. [redacted] has dealt with our customer service department several times. We have tried to "fix" Mr. [redacted]'s product on multiple occasions and informed him that his issue within the spectrum of normal wear and tear of the product. We have offered to fix Mr. [redacted]'s crossbow back to factory spec and informed him that he is welcome to sell his product at that time. Mr. [redacted] did not purchase the product from us, therefore we can not refund his money. Mr. [redacted] has not cooperated with us and has gone so far as to email our customer service department and post pictures on Facebook of his vehicle with a sticker that says "Parker [redacted]".

Response:

I find it very unsettling that Parker would want me to just put the bow back together and then sell it, thus passing the defective bow on to another unsuspecting hunter. Parker may have no legal obligation to me, but they certainly have an ethical and moral obligation to stand behind the products that they produce. Parker will have a legal obligation when their bow injures or kills someone. Parker can rest assured that I have, and will continue to alert others, both in person and online, as to the defects of their products
