Parkersburg Veterinary Hospital Reviews (1)

I am absolutely outragedIn the past month, I have spent close to $at this vet for my first cat to be spayed, given shots, dewormed, and declawed and the second cat to be given shots and declawedNeither of my cats go outside at allWhen I got my first cat, I put flea medicine on her myself, and also flea bombed my house while she was at the vetAt the vet, I asked them to put more flea medicine on her to be safeMy second cat is an albino, pure-white, short haired kitten with pink earsI got her three weeks after my first catI got her from the pound where she was spayed and without fleas or wormsI took her to this vet to be declawed and she was there for two daysI picked her up today and within one minute of being in the car, I spotted a GIANT flea crawling on her pink, hairless earWe turned the car around and went back to the vet immediatelyWhen I told them that she now has fleas, they took her chart to the back and came back out a few minutes later with the chart and showed me where it was noted that she came in with fleasThe woman working at the vet specifically said, "she did not get fleas here because we noted that she had them when we examined her." They then gave me the free flea medicine packet that she said they normally give to new kittens anywaysShe never apologized or accepted responsibility that these fleas could have ever come from their facility, and yet, while I stood there at the counter, an 80lbdog came in that was missing most of its hair because it was loaded with fleasAre you kidding me? Number one: while looking at my cat currently, there are gritty, black flea eggs ALL OVER HER and she is scratching and twitching from where they are crawling on herI would have noticed this happening prior to her visit as I am a very vigilant pet owner (especially with her because she is deaf and I take special care to interact with her and accommodate her)Number two: if it has been noted that she was covered in fleas when she arrived, why was I not notified when I called to check on her? Isn't it a vet's responsibility to notify the owner and medicate for such a problem? Furthermore, knowing that it was noted that she had fleas and that they normally give new kitten owners a free flea packet, shouldn't that have been given to me when I paid and took her out of their facility? I had to go back in and complain in order to even receive what should have been given to me anywaysI am not unrealistic and I understand that when a veterinary hospital is dealing with that many animals, there is a possibility that they can have a stray flea somewhereHowever, it is clear that they have either lied to me while also treating me in a condescending manner, or they have been negligent in treating my petI want to be clear when I say that I am not as much upset about the fleas as I am about how the issue was handled and how my pet and I were treatedI am highly disappointed that this has happenedMy parents have been bringing their animals to this facility my entire life and highly recommended that I come here from out of town to ensure quality service and a positive experience for my fur babiesI do not recommend this vet and I will be taking my business elsewhere
