Parklane Apartments Reviews (2)

These apartments aren't too bad, but they're a little pricey for what you get I lived here for two years and never had any issues with them The women in the billing office seemed nice enough However, I feel compelled to warn prospective renters of the fact that you will NOT receive your full security deposit back when you move out I went above and beyond when it came to cleaning this apartment They withheld over $150, and their reasoning for doing so was extremely vague They also require you to hire a professional cleaning service to have the carpets cleaned (whether it's needed or not); and this comes out of your pocket (about $- you are not reimbursed for this) Even the guys from the carpet cleaning service said that my apartment was pretty clean and that the carpet didn't need treated (but they knew that it was required)In the end, they know that you're moving out and they more than likely won't be seeing you again I'm extremely disappointed because I never missed rent (often paid months in advance), didn't host loud parties or cause any reason for complaints It seems like they purposely waited almost a month to mail out security deposits to ensure that everyone was long gone so they wouldn't have to deal with any complaints face to faceIf you're desperate, need an apartment in a pinch, and are willing to pay about $120/month more than you should, this could be worth the risk Just be aware that it's extremely doubtful that you'll get your full security deposit back when you move outWhen I dropped off my mail key and told them goodbye for the last time, I complemented them on how professional they were, and that the apartments were in fairly decent shape (for the age of the building) I felt that we were parting ways on a good note, but when I saw how light my security deposit was, I felt like I had been stabbed in the backI usually don't fill these out, but I feel obligated to warn people about this Nothing aggravates me more than the feeling of being ripped off I do not recommend park lane (or any apartments managed by executive realty) to any of my friends, family, or anybody on the Internet who are researching places to live in State College

These apartments aren't too bad, but they're a little pricey for what you get. I lived here for two years and never had any issues with them. The women in the billing office seemed nice enough... However, I feel compelled to warn prospective renters of the fact that you will NOT receive your full security deposit back when you move out. I went above and beyond when it came to cleaning this apartment. They withheld over $150, and their reasoning for doing so was extremely vague. They also require you to hire a professional cleaning service to have the carpets cleaned (whether it's needed or not); and this comes out of your pocket (about $100 - you are not reimbursed for this). Even the guys from the carpet cleaning service said that my apartment was pretty clean and that the carpet didn't need treated (but they knew that it was required).
In the end, they know that you're moving out and they more than likely won't be seeing you again. I'm extremely disappointed because I never missed rent (often paid months in advance), didn't host loud parties or cause any reason for complaints. It seems like they purposely waited almost a month to mail out security deposits to ensure that everyone was long gone so they wouldn't have to deal with any complaints face to face.
If you're desperate, need an apartment in a pinch, and are willing to pay about $120/month more than you should, this could be worth the risk. Just be aware that it's extremely doubtful that you'll get your full security deposit back when you move out.
When I dropped off my mail key and told them goodbye for the last time, I complemented them on how professional they were, and that the apartments were in fairly decent shape (for the age of the building). I felt that we were parting ways on a good note, but when I saw how light my security deposit was, I felt like I had been stabbed in the back.
I usually don't fill these out, but I feel obligated to warn people about this. Nothing aggravates me more than the feeling of being ripped off. I do not recommend park lane (or any apartments managed by executive realty) to any of my friends, family, or anybody on the Internet who are researching places to live in State College.
