Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
To be clear, at this point I neither expect nor want anything from park industriesI will take care of my problemed unit on my ownIm pretty savy and can figure it out on my ownThe only reason I filed a complain was to put Parks Industries on noticeThey can't treat people the way they do and expect to get away unscathed every timeAnd to make sure that people were aware of their practices They do not test the units, if so I wouldnt have had to go back twiceI wouldnt have had to go back at all
Sincerely,
*** ***

I would like to address some of your comments and clarify a few things that you have postedYou purchased a used HPAPU with the understanding that it WAS a used unit which was why it was almost half the price of a new oneBefore putting any unit up for sale, it is thoroughly tested and a test
run is performed to ensure that that APU is operating properly which was done on this unit as wellWhen you arrived, the unit was installed the advertised installed time of 6-hours (not 4-5) and once completed, we started to APU and everything seemed good at firstAfter a few minutes, the shop foreman seemed to think that engine had developed a bad soundAgain, I want to emphasize this is a used unit you are purchasing We wanted it to run a while longer to ensure that there were no issues internally before you left After a few more minutes, the engine started smokingWe spent the next several minutes diagnosing the issue which we concluded that the engine was not quickly repairable and needed to be replacedWe, in turn, asked that you come back and we would replace the engineWe would do this at no additional charge of parts or labor even though it was a used unit If you purchased this unit from someone and then had us or anyone else install it, it would not have been an option You explained that you could not stay overnight due to your load schedule and we totally understood that as we work with many drivers that have their HP2000s installed while loadedWe estimated a “couple of hours” to complete your engine exchange but where not sure of the total time When you returned we did run into more time than expected as nuts and bolts are much easier to remove when new than when older and locked upWe, unfortunately, had to have you come back a second time to complete your engine exchangeWhen you came back in the next day, we completed your replacement of your new engine and went over everything included in your warranty informationYour warranty covered the engine alone and did not cover any peripheral items such as the alternator, a/c compressor, etcIt was unfortunate that the alternator went out on you so quickly but again, this was a used unitWhen the unit left our facility, it was a 100% functioning alternator working as it shouldEven though the alternator was not covered, we were willing to replace it but we needed you to come in and have our shop do the work as we have remanufactured units here and we do not require that our dealer stock reman partsThis means that by stopping in and having our dealer warranty your alternator, you were getting a brand new alternatorAgain, this was not a warrantied item to begin with but we were offering to replace with a remanufactured alternator free of charge With you replacing it with a brand new alternator, you were charged I was surprised to see a Revdex.com complaint as I feel that Parks Industries has already gone above and beyond what should be expected by replacing your engine free of charge and not even charge you labor We also were offering to replace the alternator free of charge if you returned to our facility I am glad to hear that everything is working for you nowI hope that you continue to experience all of the features that those who own the HPoffersThanks,Parks Industries

Mr. [redacted] did purchase an HP2000 from Parks Industries and had it installed on June 3, 2016 (not June 10th).  The unit came with a 5 year (not 6 year) or 6000 hour warranty, whichever comes first.  Mr. [redacted] did have a warrantied claim on a reversing valve that...

had inadvertently rubbed against part a cap tube and leaked the refrigerant out of the system.  It was replaced free of charge under his warranty.  He claims it took 2 weeks to repair.  This was because he refused to take it to his nearest service center and wanted to bring it back to the factory for repair.  The two week time frame was because he could not get here for that length of time.  His made his appointment was June 28th at 8:00am and we had him in the shop at 8:06am.  After replacing the reversing valve and test running the unit, he was out of the shop before 10:00am that same day.  Mr. [redacted] called again saying that his compressor wasn't engaging.  Again, he said he wanted to come back to our facility.  Upon coming in, it was determined that it was just a fuse that had blown.  The fuse was replaced and although not a warrantied item, Mr. [redacted] was not charged.  He has called again with a complaint and this time refuses to allow us to repair it.  He is instead insisting that the unit be removed and a full refund be issued.  Mr. [redacted] purchased his unit through a lease company who technically owns the unit.  He is leasing it from them which as you can imagine will not allow us to refund him any funds as he did not purchase it from us.  Parks Industries will stand behind the product and repair what issues that any he is having according to Mr. [redacted]s 5 year/6000 warranty.  He can either bring the unit in to us for repair or schedule an appointment with any of our service centers across the United States to repair what issue he might be having.  We apologize for the unfortunate hole that was rubbed in his reversing valve as well as the blown fuse.  All has been covered under warranty and once we are able to look at Mr. [redacted]s current issue, I am confident that this issue will be covered as well.

"In response to [redacted]’s complaint, Parks Industries, LLC, confirms that Mr. [redacted] purchased a HP2000 Auxiliary Power Unit in 2014.  Shortly after he purchased the Unit, Mr. [redacted] made modifications to to the unit. The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover modifications...

made by the customer or damage caused by those modifications.  The situation was explained to Mr. [redacted].  To avoid any confusion, Parks Industries, LLC, provided Mr. [redacted] with documentation in writing and Mr. [redacted] signed this document.    Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please contact me if you have any questions or need additional information."Thank you ,[redacted]VP of Sales and Marketing
