We are saddened by this situation, and are humbled

significant patience and resources to work through...

diagnostics and management for long-term success.
We provided an initial free exam, as we do with all of our rescue patients. However, we cannot be expected to pay for the work-up and treatment for this condition. We have provided this owner with medical records, along with the recommendations and diagnostics performed, to help them on their way. We provided the appropriate care and will not be
offering a refund for services rendered.
We are disappointed to not continue to care for this very sweet dog, and wish this owner and pet well in their next steps along this difficult
path.

I was never notified at any visit that my dog had a "chronic medical condition", it was always presented to me as if she had basic allergies and over the counter antihistamines would help with her issues, after charges of over $300 we still have no official diagnosis nor has her health improved. I am not am satisfied with the response from the business and I am still seeking a refund. I feel as if we just paid them to guess what was going on and since it didn't help her issues are we supposed to return to give the vet more money to continue to guess?

I followed up with a few folks related to this complaint, including the rescue where she initially adopted, who confirmed her dog was adopted out with knowledge of an unresolved, likely chronic respiratory condition. I also followed up with a professional liability consultant who reviewed all of our medical records, including the client communication provided (we send home copies of exam notes at each exam), and all of it was appropriate. As veterinarians, we work with owners step-wise - we took did initial diagnostics, several courses of antibiotics, and recommended next steps. These recommendations are in the written record we gave to the owner at time of exam as well as in the records I mailed the owner, along with the copies of the x-rays. I am hoping these things allow the owner to not have to start over, and she can keep moving through the next steps needed, since she would like to seek care elsewhere. However, our examinations, the results of diagnostics and the medication were all provided appropriately, and we cannot refund these costs, any more than a human physician office would be able to. As she is not interested in discussing the medical aspects of the case further, I am at a loss for how to further help, but I have been advised it would be inappropriate to provide a refund in this case, and I am going to follow that recommendation.

I disagree with the statement from the business And I feel this issue is unresolved. At this point it's becoming a he said she said. Of course the people that use their office will agree with her opinion of what she says happened or was the original issue. Im beyond disappointed with Parkside, I should have known better from the first visit when I waited over an hour to been seen then just ended up leaving. Poor customer service.
