When we first took my mom to rehab at Parkside Villa, we noticed they gave mom meds, that we just had her weaned off of at [redacted] because of severe side effects ( [redacted] ), they gave her [redacted] ,with out consenting familyI am POA for my mother, they should have spoke to me firstMom had to then go through more withdraws from the med unnecessarilyMom slept in her waste for hours because of an order that someone made, that made no sense (not to go in her room all night) but no one can tell me who it was that made that ridiculous orderWe ordered just the opposite, as mom could not always use the call button to call them ,she was supposed to be watched frequently that never happenedUrine soaked, and I mean soaked clothing found in her clean closet and drawer more than onceI opened her closet one day and the smell was appallingAn unexplained bruise on her leg unreported until I noticed along with my sister, we reported itI watch from the hall as Aide Tiana threw urine soaked clothes on a chair that the family sits on in moms roomMom left alone on toilet , when there was an order that two people take her to bathroomNo on was there, I found her half naked and crying that she was tossed around like a rag doll and begged me to get her out of thereIt was heartbreaking.The food was never so she could eat it I worked with their kitchen to no availI cooked and brought her food that she ate almost everydayAbsolutely no communication between the Administrator and staff and aides and departmentsThe heater in her room was defective, and only hot hot blew out on my mom while she slept with her head right at the heaterI as them to fix it, I asked them to move her bed over, they would not complyi would find my mother either in her pee for hours when I arrived early to check on her, she would be parched and could not reach her water, she would be crying to me about the night girls and how they moved her fast and forced her to move, being insensitive to her sore shoulder, and her sore kneesShe was crying for someone to change her and no one came in the nightAnd if they did , mom would frantically tell me about the horrible experience, so I started to video her talking for recordThen I would rush to supervisor upset and report itThe room the last few days mom was there smelled of Pee that had been on the carpet somehow in the nightI kept reporting all of these things, and I may have forgot a few, there were so many upsetting things happening her here at Parkside Villa, in Middleburg HeightsI thought this would be a good place because my cousin Amy is Administrator, we spoke several times about some of these things as they were happening, and the last two times I called her she did not even return my call, and this is my cousinAll she had to say when I approached her was "we are a star rating" and let me look into it ..NO starGoogle Parkside Vila, has lots of and and stars that are not in Parksides website of ratings ,statisticsA few select Aides were very good with mom, it's a pretty place with smiling faces when we got there, not only my poor mom suffered there daily, we all lost sleep nights, over our mom with poor care and we're stressed beyond stress because of the substandard care and neglect and lack of communication between departments big timeDon't be fooled by the smiles and beautiful surroundings, and if your loved one stays there, watch everything and show up at different times, it's amazing how they treated my mother when I was not thereI am not making one thing up here, my husband and sister and Brother all witnessed this substandard careOne more thing, they do have a great therapy department, they did get mom up and walking again, funny how they released mom early , after the complaints started coming in they cut short moms therapyToo bad therapy did not communicate with the Aides either, as they never would follow through with her using the walker to bathroom and backthey dropped the ball every shift changeMy advise stay away
