I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. In response to Parma Precious Pup Palace claims, my first concern with her response is that she interpreted my communications with her as " harassment".  I called her business by telephone immediately on the evening of the dog grooming service to reach out about my concerns with her care of my animal and her services and tried to negotiate a "fair" fee for services.  It was a respectful conversation one in which I explained  we were unable to substantiate her claims of our dog carrying fleas.  She did not agree and refused to adjust fees for the flea "dip" at $49. And stated, "I had a feeling you would be calling back so I saved a flea in a jar".  I was upset that my dog who already had skin sensitivity was chemically treated without my permission, or a simple phone call.  There was no flea infestation with our dog as the groomer claims.  We have a child with an immune deficiency who would have reacted to fleas in our home or " hundreds" of flea bites etc.  These are gross exaggerations and unfounded claims.  I did text the owner with evidence of price overcharging based on businesses in our community.   I received 3 quotes for "flea baths" from PetSmart, Petco and Grooming by Alex.  I texted a photo of the brochure to the Owner and requested that we try to agree on a fair fee for service.  The average price was $10 as opposed to her $49.  If we could not agree I informed her of my next course of action.  I was going to dispute the charges with my credit card company.  I tried to be respectful and fair while stating my concerns.  I waited a week and a half with no outreach from the Parma Precious Pup Owner.  I then filed a dispute with my credit card company.  While filing my dispute I also discovered that the owner was billing for service under the name of a different company for a spa service.  Buyer Beware!  My credit card company filed the dispute.  I was never contacted by Parma Precious Pup Palace Owner or given a refund as stated in her reply.  In fact, I was never provided with a receipt that I requested.  I hope that she handles business differently in the future and takes time to listen to her customers.  I felt very taken advantage of especially since I have vision impairment I trusted her.  I also felt  protective of my pooch who could have been harmed.  And I guarantee you my dog did not give her " kisses" of appreciation for his flea " dip" first, he is not a licker, second he was raw and overshaven and uncomfortable after his groom.  We will not be returning and our negative experience will not be documented on her Facebook page because she has control over which comments post.  Lesson learned we will stick to our usual groomer.

Parma Precious Pup Palace 5669 Pearl Road Parma, Ohio 44129 (216) 956-0121   March 20, 2017   Rhonda W[redacted] ADR Manager 2800 Euclid Ave., 4th Fl. Cleveland, OH 44115-2408   Re: Complaint ID #[redacted]   Dear Ms. W[redacted],   I am writing in regards to a Service Issue...

Complaint (#[redacted]) that was recently filed with the Revdex.com (Revdex.com). I am very sorry to learn that a former customer of mine has filed a complaint regarding dog grooming services that I provided on February 23, 2017.  Parma Precious Pup Palace is a relatively new dog grooming business in Parma, Ohio. The grooming salon has been open since 2015, and I am the owner and groomer. The Parma Precious Pup Palace, is, besides my own children, my pride and joy. I have loved caring for animals since I was a toddler, and it has always been a dream of mine to create a clean, inviting and whimsical grooming salon. I treat each dog that I bathe and groom with care and compassion. One of the common phrases I hear from customers is that I, “treat others’ dogs like my own.”  I am strongly committed to customer service, and I respect my customers and do my best to make their experience at the Parma Precious Pup Palace a pleasant and pampered one. Approximately 99% of my customers are repeat customers. I offer very fair, competitive pricing, and services such as: full service grooming, nail trimming, teeth cleaning, de-shedding, gland cleaning, skunk and flea treatment and more.  Facebook is where most of my online reviews are posted and there are 19 reviews of my grooming salon. 100% of the reviews of my salon are 5 star ratings. Here is a sample of a few reviews: “When you have the best dog in the whole world, where do you go for grooming? Look no further. Charlotte is the BEST! She went way beyond expectations. My dog was happy when I walked in to pick her up, before she even knew I was there. That says it all! So lucky to have found this place. I'll never go anywhere else.” “I brought my Newfie in he was in a bad need of a grooming. Charlotte got him right in and worked on him from ten thirty in the morning till three thirty. I have never seen him look this good. Bozzie looks like the true rock star he is!!! Thank you Charlotte! We will never go anywhere else!!!!” I had such a great experience here! They were so nice and friendly and I could tell how much Charlotte loves what she does. She treated my dog like he was her own and went above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend Parma Precious Pup Palace and will continue to bring my dog back!”  I was extremely concerned when a recent dog owner contacted me after going home. This dog owner expressed she was unhappy about having to pay for the services rendered to both of her dogs on February 23, 2017. This has caused me extreme anxiety, since I strive for excellence and feel that I did nothing to deserve a complaint to the Revdex.com.  On February 23, 2017, the owner of two dogs and a repeat customer of mine, brought in her golden retriever to be “shaved.” I thought this was an odd thing to do to a long-haired breed in winter time, but my job is to do what the customer tells me to do, and she had this exact service done once before without any complaint. As I was beginning to bathe the dog, I noticed that his skin was red and bitten up by fleas. Once the water touched the dog’s skin, I saw what looked like pepper (called “flea dirt” or flea feces, which is the most common sign of a flea infestation) fly off the dog’s fur. As the water continued to touch the fur, I estimate that over 1,000 fleas were jumping off and coming off the golden retriever’s fur. Once I saw the level of flea infestation, my immediate reaction was to bathe the dog in a flea eliminating shampoo. It is an all-natural flea shampoo product with no harmful burning or irritation to the skin. Fleas carry an assortment of diseases that cause infection and even death in animals, and there was no way that, ethically, I could ignore the fact that the animal was in pain and severe discomfort. For instance, the dog was gnawing at his legs. After several hours, and no more sign of fleas, I used an all-natural soothing deep conditioner. I could sense the relief on the pup’s face and he licked and kissed me as to say ‘thank you.’  When the dog owner returned, she appeared to be satisfied. In fact, she brought her other dog in afterwards, since she admitted if the one dog had fleas, the other dog most likely did as well. After several more hours trying to get the second dog, a King Charles Cavalier breed, cleaned up and free from fleas, the dog owner returned and paid the total cost of $173.00.  The breakdown was as follows:   $55 grooming of dog A on 2/23/17 + $49 flea treatment for dog A on 2/23/17 $104 + $49 flea treatment for dog B on 2/23/17 $153 + 20 shampoo and blow dry of dog B on 2/23/17 $173.00 TOTAL COST   It states in the complaint to the Revdex.com that the dog owner “…feel[s] strongly that I was overcharged and the services that were performed or harmful to my dog.” The dog owner further insists that the going rate for a flea bath is “about $10 in our area of service.” There is no mention of the names or exact prices of other grooming salons or the source of her claim. I have determined the prices of my services based on extensive research into area demographics and area competition.   Overall, the claim made by this dog owner is a false claim. In fact, I find this to be a fraudulent claim considering the dog owner was refunded the TOTAL cost of all the services rendered on 2/23/17. I did not want to risk the positive reputation I have been building. In addition, the dog owner had begun to harass me with insulting and threatening text messages.   I refunded the dog owner the total amount that she was asking for ($173) on February 28, 2017. I just wanted the incident behind me and wanted the threatening texts to end. You can imagine how shocked I was that she is asking for an additional refund of $173.00!   The dog owner stated in the complaint, “I informed [the salon owner] that we never had a flea issue in our house, and my dogs have not been itching.” Although the dog owner did state in the complaint that she admitted the dog had a skin condition called “dermatitis,” which is commonly a misdiagnosis of flea infestation. There was absolutely no doubt in my mind that the dog I was about to groom was covered in fleas, flea bites, and flea dirt. The fleas bit my face as I was rinsing and throughout the bathing. I am allergic to fleas and I ended up having a severe allergic reaction, in which a family member had to bring me an allergy treatment.   Lastly, I would like to clarify that I did not perform what is known as a “flea dip.” I used an organic, vegan, all-natural, herbal, soothing shampoo. This is much different than a flea dip which contains toxic chemicals that are not rinsed from the skin and fur. The following is a description from petmd.com (a veterinarian approved online resource): FLEA SHAMPOOS Bathing your dog with a special medicated shampoo that kills fleas and/or ticks on contact can be an inexpensive (though labor-intensive) method of protecting your dog during flea season, or year round. You will need to repeat the process more often, about every two weeks, as the effective ingredients in these shampoos won’t last as long as a spot-on or oral medication. FLEA DIPS A dip is a concentrated chemical that needs to be diluted in water and applied to the animal’s fur with a sponge, or poured over the back. This is not like a shampoo bath, so you will not rinse your dog off after applying the dip product. These chemical products can be very potent, so labels need to be read carefully before use to make sure that it is appropriate for your dog age and health. Misuse can lead to toxic reactions, in both pets and in the people treating them, so they are generally only used for severe infestations, and only infrequently. Because of the chemical potency of dips, they should not be used on very young animals (under four months) or on pregnant or nursing animals.     I assure you that I always have the best intentions at heart with the animals in my care, and I ask that you will please reconsider posting this complaint against my business. I welcome the opportunity for you to visit my dog grooming salon in Parma. I am also available to speak on the phone at (216) 956-0121 if you have any questions or need any further information or documentation. I appreciate you contacting me regarding this issue and allowing me the opportunity to dispute this false claim made against me.   Thank you for your time and consideration.   Sincerely,   Charlotte Russell Owner, Parma Precious Pup Palace       Attachment: Photos of dogs A and B after grooming
