I am responding to the above complaint filed by [redacted] I did work with her in providing a sitemeasure and design for her kitchen. I measured her existing kitchen; they planned to remove a wall aswell as add in another wall to accommodate built in cabinets. None of this work had...
occurred before Imeasured however so I drew the plan as I thought it would work.
After delivering their plans and estimates I understood they would be ordering from Parr very soon.That said, I never heard back from the [redacted]s, even after several kind attempts to contact them.Had I heard back that they wanted to order from Parr I would have been obliged to do so, and Parrwould have been responsible for the accuracy of our order.
I cannot speak to the accuracy of another cabinet company's interpretation of my measurements orplan documents. I do not know if the plan changed, or if the walls were built to t he specificationsoutlined in my design. I do not know if the same cabinet line was used. Cabinet lines vary bymanufacturer and this will affect the overall plan.
If I were to receive another designers' drawings and be asked to use them to order cabinets, I wouldabsolutely verify the accuracy by taking my own measurements. The general rule of thumb is t hat if aclient brings in their own measurements, they are responsible for the accuracy of the cabinet order. Ifthe designer comes out to verify measurements, it is the designer who is responsible for the accuracy ofthe cabinet order.
I enjoyed working with the [redacted] and am sorry they had not stayed with Parr. The $250 design feeis only credited toward purchase of Parr cabinets.
