I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved
Regards,
*** ***

Response:Sept10, It is very clear that Mr*** didn't follow our instructions to be sure all of the lights on the trailer worked correctly when connected to the 4RunnerSince we didn't have the trailer at our shop as we told Mr*** was necessary when we installed the wiring
connector on the 4Runner, we can only install the connector in the standard configuration per the wiring diagram supplied with the connector kitThis is why we stated on our work order ("Note - All terminals work correctly on the connectorWe recommend connecting the trailer to the truck to be sure all trailer lights work correctly")If the trailer components didn't work correctly then the wiring needed to be changed so that the trailer and the tow vehicle matchedWe told Mr*** that we would like to have the trailer here at our shop when we install the connector, but he didn't want to tow it without the lights workingThat's understandable, but makes it impossible for us to be sure the wiring matchesIn response to the accusation that we failed to notice the original connector on the 4Runner was broken, this is not trueOne of the reasons we were installing the new connector was because of the broken original oneI'm not sure of Mr***s clarity on this issue, and frankly I'm confused why he made this statementTrailers and campers are notorious for being wired in non standard configurations, this is why it's so important to have both the tow vehicle and the trailer wiring matched upIt's not possible for us to match up the wiring if we don't have the trailer at our shop, thus our instructions to Mr*** to make sure everything works correctly when he hooked up the trailer at his homeWe would have made any adjustment to the wiring configuration if we could have had the trailer here to match it up, but Mr*** never contacted us about this until after he had problems with the brakesMr*** noted in his complaint that the trailer brakes were grabbing, yet he towed the trailer anywayHe did not perform his due diligence and he is at fault for any damage to the trailer brakes as he knew full well that they would be damaged if he towed it in that stateHe should never have towed the trailer knowing the brakes were grabbing, this is very dangerous and anyone should have known this would damage the brakesI would hope someone towing a trailer would use better judgement than this because it puts everyone on the road in dangerTowing any type of trailer can be dangerous if not done with extreme caution, especially a trailer large enough to require brakesExtra caution must always be usedI'm sorry if Mr*** didn't understand our instructions, I feel our instructions were very clearWe will not take blame for the brake damageMr*** should not have towed the trailer knowing there was a problemOur note on the work order made it clear that there could be a miss match between the 4Runner and the trailerTherefore any brake damage was caused by his failure to both heed our advice, and by using poor judgment to tow the trailer knowing the brakes were draggingNo further attention or response from us is necessary in this matter*** ***

In order to satisfy Mr. [redacted] I am issuing a check in the amount of $142.43 for a refund in full of the charges to install his trailer wiring kit.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear bellow.?
[redacted] Imports says that my report of their having missed noting that the seven point connecting device on our vehicle is not accurate.  They report that the device was intact when they inspected it.  I or someone else could have backed over an object damaging the item after that time.  I apologize for the inaccurate statement. My statement about incorrect installation of the new device is not inaccurate.  Someone at [redacted] Auto cut one or more of the wires and spliced the wire(s) into wires of the wrong color.  This was a serious mistake.  We have a photo that shows the wiring discrepancy. In my view, the least that [redacted] should do is to pay back to us the amount that they charged for the installation since it had to be done over.
Regards,
[redacted]
