Here is how this sales transaction took place
13px;">On 10/2/a man and a women came into our store asking about [redacted] phonesOne of our store managers assisted the customers with showing them what [redacted] phones we had for sale.
(Please note that all of our items are used and are sold as such.)
The phone they liked, they took down the serial number and the IME number, which is required in order to connect the phone to the [redacted] networkThey left the store and went to a [redacted] store to validate that the phone could be connected to their accountIn less than hour they returned and told the manager that " [redacted] stated the the phone was good and could be connected" so they purchased the phone at 11:am on 10/2/ On the sales receipt the manager explained to them that the sale was final and the receipt was stamped "Final sale No returns" and "Final Sale - The item being purchased is being sold in "as is" conditionNo returns"Also at the bottom of their receipt it also states "Store credit onlyNo refunds."
Approximately a 1/hour later the customer called back and said [redacted] stated the the phone could not be connectedThe manager proceeded to tell them that the item was not returnable and made that fact clear when they purchased the itemThe manager suggested that the customer could unlock the phone and attached it to the network but that is not a service we provide
In terms of the comment from the customer that we are dealing in stolen merchandisePlease understand that "by law" we are required to report all items that we loan on or purchase to the local Law Enforcement Official dailyIn this store's case, that information is reported to Jacksonville Sheriffs Office and the item is put on a day police hold where the item cannot be sold or moved for days once the item is received at the storeThe phone was purchased at our store on 7/29/and put out for sale on 8/29/and purchased by this customer on 10/2/At no point during this period was the item flagged by JSO as stolen.
The customer has made these claims yet we had provided all the information about the phone to the customer prior to them purchasing itWe made it clear that the item was not returnable and hence this why the customer contacted [redacted] prior to purchasing the phone
We have been upfront and honest with the customer during the entire sales process and at this point we are unwilling to allow the customer to return the item
