I ordered a going away banner for a party at my job on [redacted]. On Monday, July 28,2014, I had my tooth pulled so I sent my daughter in the store for the banner. I did not check to see if spelling was correct because if the pain I was in. When I got to work the next morning and opened up the banner, the word "fairwell" was spelled instead of "farewell". I called the manager who said I signed the contract stated that everything was correct. But I never looked it over to see if it was correct due to me feeling ill. I only wanted them to correct spelling for the Department head going away that has served this military base for over 30 years.Desired SettlementI would like for someone to apologize and offer some kind of restitution. I don't like the way this made me look, and the store should consider how this is going to make them look. They only had to accomodate me on their error.Business Response Ms. [redacted] visited Party Suppliers on July 25, 2014 to place an order for a custom banner. A banner order form was filled out that asked us to create one banner 15" x 4ft with an inscription that read "Fairwell [redacted] You'll Be Missed. [redacted] Every custom banner customer is asked to review the message for content and spelling. There is a confirmation on each form that states: "I have looked over my order and understand that once this order is placed, I cannot make any changes or cancel the order. Everything is correct as is." There is a place for the customer to sign and date the acknowledgement. Ms. [redacted] signed and dated the confirmation statement affirming that everything was correct. As a second layer of confirmation, we ask each customer to review their banner when they pick it up to ensure everything is as they wish. Someone other than Ms. [redacted] picked up and signed for the banner, but did not let anyone know of a spelling concern. While this policy is plainly visible with signage in the store and with the custom banner forms we use, we're happy to provide Ms. [redacted] with an in store credit for the amount of her banner purchase. She will just need to speak with [redacted] who is the store manager, when she comes to the store.
