Financial Corporation of AmericaResponse to Complaint [redacted]Financial Corporation of America is in receipt of the above referenced complaint from [redacted]. Following an investigation into the matter, FCOA provides the following response:1. An account in the name of [redacted]...
was assigned to Financial Corporation of America by their client, St Charles Mercy Hospital, on 8/19/17.2. A call was received on 9/1/17 from Ms. [redacted] requesting an itemized bill of the charges. This was mailed to her on 9/12/17.3. A call was received from Ms. [redacted] on 10/3/17 during which she stated that she had paid these charges online on 8/24/17. The account balance was reviewed with the client and no difference was found between the facility records and the records at FCOA.4. On 10/23/17, Ms. [redacted] called to see if the balance had been cleared. She was told that it had not and that FCOA needed proof of the payment for further research.5. Documents were received by FCOA on 11/1/17 which included a Visa statement in Ms. [redacted]’s name showing a payment to “Mercy Medical Associates” in the amount of the account balance.6. On 11/17/17, the account at FCOA was returned to the client.Resolution: The proof of payment provided by Ms. [redacted] has been forwarded to St Charles Mercy Hospital. Since the account is no longer being handled by Financial Corporation of America, all future inquiries into the status of the bill will need to be addressed directly to that facility.Should anything further be required, please do not hesitate to contact us.
