Pat Porter Photography Reviews (31)

I am sorry that the client feels the way that they do.  The images that were uploaded that she was referring to were never, to my knowledge, asked to be kept private prior to their upload, but were taken down the next morning at the clients request.  This was on a Sunday, not a normal...

business day so it required a trip into the studio to accomplish this for the client.  The gallery has been online for quite sometime and I have not received any requests for albums from any of the parties involved.  I will be happy to design and deliver those albums once requested.  The parents and inlaws are to choose 20 images for their albums, sorting them by category (ie ceremony, reception, etc. and using the image number (ie ppp_2345).  I will be mailing the clients their digital copies of their images, with no watermark in a high resolution format on a flashdrive. As to the clients album, I will have to check their contract to see what is do to them.  As soon as I receive their request it will be designed and shipped to them as well.
Please understand that the delay in response have not been for a lack of concern, but because my father is in intensive care and requires my almost constant attention since I am the only child and have to give any and all permission for procedures to be done on his behalf .  This has not changed since the last communication with the client.

I would request that I be given a few additional days to respond to this. I am not able to access my files as I am at the hospital with my father who is having an extensive heart surgery. I am the only child and feel it necessary to be with him.  I will construct a proper response no...

later than Wednesday of next week. Thank you for your understanding.

Review: We hired Pat Porter as a photographer for my son's wedding - September, 2015. To this date (April 27, 2016) we have not received the photo album or the video promised us. We paid Mr. Porter in full before the wedding.Desired Settlement: We just want the products that we were promised in the contract.

Response:

I apologize to Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] for the delay in receiving their products. I have every intention of getting everything to them. My father has been in intensive care for quite some time and is on a critical day-to-day basis as I write this. As soon as my family emergency is over I will get them their products.

Review: I found Pat Porter/Couture Reflections at a local Bridal Show. I met with [redacted] and decided to proceed with him. He was going out of the country for vacation and of course needed my FULL deposit right away. I paid (which I should of known better). I contacted him multiple times on when I should take our engagement pictures so that I could send out the save the dates. He kept putting me off that the weather wasn't good. That being said I didn't get to print or send out my save the dates because he lacked scheduling with me. I purchased a CD for the pictures of the engagement pictures he told me that they were lost in the mail. After constant emails/phone calls/text messages I was able to PICK UP my cd that I purchased. When we get to his new address it was clear to see that he was more focused on moving into his new location than satisfying his clients. The save the dates were apart of my package I purchased. At my bridal shoot he made a very inappropriate joke about a cheating husband. On our wedding day after the ceremony I wanted some pictures of me and my new husband. He started to walk away to leave and I said hold on I would like pictures of just us. He proceeded to tell me that we were running out of time so we could take a couple. Which he did only take a couple... of the same poses !I also paid for a package that had about 7/8 hours of him taking pictures. I could careless about the reception I wanted to the ceremony pictures! After I received my wedding pictures I instantly picked out the pictures that I wanted to put in the wedding album that I purchased. I have emails/phone calls/text messages for one whole year asking when I would receive my wedding album. I received it one year after the wedding! The only time he would pick up the phone was to receive money from me for additional services that I wanted to purchase. It was a horrific experience. I will never recommend or use this company again. The communication and quality of his services are disappointingDesired Settlement: If I could receive my money back that would be perfect but we know that is not going to happen. My one wedding day and I didn't get what I paid for, or the memories of my husband and I. I hope he is no longer able to take photos of anyone's special day.

Review: In February 2013 we contracted Pat Porter Photography / [redacted] to photograph our daughter's wedding on August 3, 2013. Part of the contract included a photo album which we still have not received as of today (2/3/2015). After many attempts to contact [redacted], by letter, phone and email, we are contacting the Revdex.com to see if you can assist us.Desired Settlement: Receipt of wedding album as soon as possible..

Response:

The album had been produced by the album company and sent to my old studio. The gentlemen at the front counter sent it back to the company since I was no longer leasing a space in the building. I have ordered a replacement album and should have it no later than February 17, 2015 and will mail it to them then.

Review: I am emailing you because I was recently married in May 2015. My photographer Pat P[redacted] from Couture Reflections photography is very unprofessional. I received a flash drive with my pictures but he has yet to give me the 3 books that I paid for. I have email, called, left messages, and texted him for months and I have not received a call, email or text back as of yet. I want to get the 3 books that I paid for or I would like a refund. I need to know the necessary steps that I need to take even if its legal steps because I feel Pat Porter did not follow through on his contract. I am very unhappy and displeased of his poor customers services. There were 2 photographers and 1 videographer and all 3 of them missed my last Dance because they were talking to each other. The videographer was at the venue for 8 hours and edit the video to only 27 minutes of the wedding. Please contact me at [redacted] or [redacted] as I want to address these issues. Thank you.Desired Settlement: I will like the 3 books with all of the pictures that I have chosen along with a longer video and or a refund.

Review: The dance school my daughters are in selected this photographer to do their class photos. We selected, and paid for, a particular photo package. This package was incomplete. After contacting [redacted] we were told he would have it at the children's recital as he would be their to shoot it on video. He did not have it then he said, "I will mail it from my office; you will have it in a week. A week went past and still nothing; not even an apology. He said, "give me another week." We did, and still nothing. I just called and he said, "Sorry I didn't get your picture but my dog has cancer, my uncle is sick, and my dad is in the hospital. I said, "we all have issues man, but I paid for the photos and I want what I paid for." [redacted] said just send me the picture and I'll send the refund. Thanks for understanding what family is about!" I will not send the photos back without receiving my refund so I can have to get the run around on that too.Desired Settlement: I will return his photo package to his office, and he can refund our $65. How can I explain having a professional photo of one kid and not the other?

Review: We had initially contracted [redacted] on November 4, 2013 to photograph our wedding on April 26, 2014. The contract stated we would have two photographers at the wedding [redacted] and his assistant [redacted]. We has to email [redacted] multiple times in February 2013 to schedule our engagement photo session. Each response from [redacted] required at least two emails on our part to just to make contact. On April 20, 2013 [redacted] emailed us and informed us that he had "hurt his foot" and would not be able to photograph our wedding, but that he would instead send his assistant ([redacted]), plus yet another assistant, to complete his services. Upon talking to his assistant [redacted], we learned that he had double booked that weekend, and that as far as she knew, he hadn't hurt himself and would not be photographing our wedding as originally contracted. The assistants photographed our wedding from ceremony to the end of our reception. After about three weeks, we contacted [redacted] (May 18, 2013)in regards to when we should expect our photos to be put on his website, per the contract. He told us, and it is written in the contract that it takes between 4 and 6 weeks, but because of the high volume of weddings he had booked for himself that it would take longer On June 11, 2014, the middle of the eight week, we were informed that he would be uploading the photo's that night. The next day, we were looking through the photos uploaded and found that many of the pictures we had specifically outlined and included in [redacted] wedding worksheet to insure all requested photos are taken during the wedding were not on the website. It also appeared to us that the photos for our ceremony were only from one vantage point, not from both of the cameras. Upon contacting [redacted] about these missing photos and others, we were informed that during the night, a storm had caused him to lose power which in turn corrupted our photos during the uploading process. He first stated that the server was to blame in the missing photos and it would be resolved when rebooted. He then stated that his hard drive was the cause of the missing photos and would need to be sent of to recover our missing wedding photos. We asked for weekly updates in order to be sure our issue was being resolved, but had to email [redacted] multiple times before getting a response/update. On August 12, 2014 we were informed that the hard drive had come back (after asking for yet another update on our situation) and that he was going to send off the SD cards now to attempt to recover the pictures. We never received an update on the SD card recovery after contacting [redacted] with no response. By September we gave up hope and requested a refund for the pictures lost, as well as an upgraded photo album we had amended to our contract. The total refund (out of the initial $1470) would only be for $110.16, plus the $200 totaling a refund of only $310.16.Desired Settlement: We desire a total refund of services not rendered for $700.00. This includes not only the lost photos but the upgraded photo album (an additional $200.00) and the original photo album included in the base package price we already paid to [redacted]

Review: Purchase pasted from Bank statement:08/27/14CHECKCARD [redacted] Richmond -794.06This was for wedding photographs. The owner/photographer Pat Porter never gave me my wedding photographs, which were taken on January 16, 2015. I have called, texted, and emailed many times and he does not return my calls or messages. The last time we spoke he said he was sending them, but they were never received. I know he has them, because they were on his website. However, they are my property and he needs to give them to me.Desired Settlement: I need the photographer to send me a flash drive with the images to my address: [redacted] as he promised.

Response:

The images were mailed to the last address Mrs [redacted] provided us with in a text message of [redacted]. Since she has not received them we have mailed an additional set to her on a flash drive to the address provided in the complaint. The USPS tracking number is [redacted] and will require her signature. I hope this resolves this issue.

Review: We hired Pat, through Couture Reflections, in 2014 for our 2015 wedding and the contract specifically includes a 12x12 Elegance album. We have neither received an album, nor a return email answering questions about the proof that was sent to us in October 2015. Pat has established a history of being difficult to reach and making excuses.

When our engagement photos were shot, we had to send Pat 4 emails over 17 days to receive the disc. It took almost 12 weeks after the wedding to see our photos online, during which time 2 emails to check in went completely ignored. After they were online, another 8 weeks would pass; 5 emails were sent to Pat to get him to send the discs of the wedding and bridal photos. 3 of the 5 emails went completely unanswered. We finally reached Pat by text message. When Pat responds, repeated excuses are used: “the next day or so,” “the next week or so,” a claim to have been in the hospital and twice we were told that he had already mailed the disc once, having taken “a mountain of mail to the post office.”

Additionally, my bridal portrait canvas was not the mounting I ordered. Also, Pat called the night before the wedding to let us know he had once again been in the hospital and would not be our wedding photographer. A replacement was sent.

In July, he said our album proof would be ready in 4-6 weeks (by Sept 11.} Instead, after sending several more emails without responses, we received the online proof after 10 weeks (Oct 14). The proof is in no way similar to the examples that we were shown in our initial meeting. The photos are too small and the page color variety is more reminiscent of a child’s book than a professionally made album. We responded with questions about changes & we’ve received no replies. At this point, we are done chasing Pat and have no interest in continuing this process. There is no excuse for so many unanswered emails. Pat is breaching our contract by not providing the album.Desired Settlement: The only resolution that we will accept is a full refund in the form of a cashier’s check, for the value of the 12x12 Elegance Photo Album at $599, as listed on the price listing provided to us on July 22, 2014. The check must be in our possession in 30 days or less. No additional excuses will be accepted.

Regards,

Review: I hired Couture Reflections to photograph my wedding in July 2015 after meeting the owner, Pat P[redacted], at the Wedding Expo in Richmond. My then Fiancé and I met with Mr. P[redacted] at his studio to discuss his work. We were very please with that meeting and entrusted him to capture the memories of our wedding day. However, after the wedding many many issues arouse. Photographs that we had specifically asked and were promised to keep private were uploaded to Couture Reflections online gallery for all my family, friends, and coworkers to see. I called to ask to have those removed from the website and to have him return my call as soon as possible. Mr. P[redacted] sent one text message in reply. I have tried to contact the company in many different ways. I have copies of all the paperwork regarding my contract with Couture Reflections and copies of all meeting requests via email. Almost a year later and I have never been able to reach anyone by phone or schedule a meeting with Mr. P[redacted] to resolve the issue that I still, almost a year later, have no copies of my wedding photographs. My in-laws also ordered photography albums from the company and they also have never received any contact regarding these mementos.Couture Reflections has long since been paid and my family and I still have no actual copies of our photographs!Desired Settlement: My family and I feel as though we have been stolen from and wish to have the photographs and photo albums that we have paid for almost a year ago. I feel that a refund is more than acceptable request after such a long term of terrible customer service!
