I'm submitting a response to the completely bogus complaint submitted by *** *** under the ID ***. On June 9, (which just to be clear is NOT the first week of June) I created a Facebook post for my business page (Patch and Paisley) that read "...so last night "at work" I
made a dog bed from an old coffee table" with pictures of what I'd created(This is post is still visible to the public)I had been having a conversation with a woman named *** *** since early May regarding a large custom picture frame I was building for herThe morning of the 9th, while asking about her own order, she also began inquiring about the dog bed for a friend of hersShe asked for a few of the dimensions, the price, and also wanted to know if I could change the word "sleep" on the front of the bed to read "***" insteadI responded within minutes on all of the measurements, that I'd be happy to change the wording for her, and that while I was selling the piece for $125, I'd offer it to her for $because of the purchase she was already making*** immediately wrote back that her friend, ***, was happy with all of that and would like the invoice sent to ***'s email address*** was already aware that I live miles from her and that the soonest I would be back in her area (to avoid shipping charges) would be the following weekShe explained this to *** who agreed the delivery date wasn't an issue (since she didn't want to drive the mile round-trip or pay for the shipping)I sent *** *** an emailed invoice on June for $and she paid it almost immediately. Four days later, on June I received my first actual contact from ***She sent me an email asking for photos of the bedI sent her the same three photos that had appeared on Facebook the week beforeShe then sent back a very short and very vague email that read (in its entirety) as follows:Can I make a few changesGrey instead of green base and pink instead of orangeAnd plain post***While I was under no contractual obligation whatsoever to complete these requests as she had already paid for the bed four days earlier and this was NEVER discussed as a custom order, I agreed out of the goodness of my heart to spend an additional hours of my time doing soI also immediately wrote back that while I could complete her requests, there was absolutely no way I could have it done by the original delivery dateShe responded right away that this was not an issue as ***'s first birthday isn't until early July so she didn't need it until July 1stWe continued to keep in contact through the delivery of the bed on June (before the deadline she gave) and I sent her three more photos (attached below) of the completed bed prior to delivery. On July 30, I met her in the parking lot of *** in Evansville, IN (per her request) and handed the bed off to herI was delivering the custom piece ordered by *** *** at the same time so we all spent about minutes in the parking lotI returned to my car and drove offWhile heading down the road towards my next delivery, I received a strange phone call from *** saying she now decided that "she just doesn't like the bed"I was surprised as she said nothing of this minutes earlierShe was unable to give me any specifics but kept saying things like "I'm sorry, I guess I just don't know what I was expecting". I don't mean to be crass, but if you don't know what you're expecting, how am I supposed to??? I'm not a mind reader!! I explained to her that I was already headed to another location so no I would not be driving back out to meet her againWe could discuss everything once I'd returned home and come up with a resolutionI didn't return home until after 10pmI contacted my attorney on Friday for clarification on my legal obligations, but because of the holiday, I didn't hear back until Tuesday the 5th*** called and texted repeated during this time so on the 5th I responded that according to my attorney I had fulfilled all of my contractual obligations (actually going above and beyond) and that if she had any questions she could contact him directlyIn the meantime, *** began contacting my year old mother-in-law (who's name she was never even given) at her place of employment and threatening to drop the piece off with herI explained that my mother-in-law had nothing to do with this business, nor would it be her responsibility to carry the heavy piece around or drive the miles round-trip to return it to meI then explained, (after talking to my attorney again) that if she still insisted on returning the item, she would be responsible for getting it back to me (at her own expense). With regards to the "chip" in the table, this was clearly evident in both sets of pictures she was sentAs I've stated from the very beginning, this is an OLD coffee table that I flipped upside down to turn into a dog begThis is not a piece I take custom orders for as I could never guarantee that I could find another year old table that was exactly the sameShe purchased a completed piece that I had already created and I agreed to change the spelling of one word...that's it

I'm submitting a response to the completely bogus complaint submitted by [redacted] under the ID [redacted]. On June 9, 2016 (which just to be clear is NOT the first week of June) I created a Facebook post for my business page (Patch and Paisley) that read "...so last night "at work" I...

made a dog bed from an old coffee table" with 3 pictures of what I'd created. (This is post is still visible to the public). I had been having a conversation with a woman named [redacted] since early May regarding a large custom picture frame I was building for her. The morning of the 9th, while asking about her own order, she also began inquiring about the dog bed for a friend of hers. She asked for a few of the dimensions, the price, and also wanted to know if I could change the word "sleep" on the front of the bed to read "[redacted]" instead. I responded within minutes on all of the measurements, that I'd be happy to change the wording for her, and that while I was selling the piece for $125, I'd offer it to her for $100 because of the purchase she was already making. [redacted] immediately wrote back that her friend, [redacted], was happy with all of that and would like the invoice sent to [redacted]'s email address. [redacted] was already aware that I live 150 miles from her and that the soonest I would be back in her area (to avoid shipping charges) would be the following week. She explained this to [redacted] who agreed the delivery date wasn't an issue (since she didn't want to drive the 300 mile round-trip or pay for the shipping). I sent [redacted] an emailed invoice on June 9 for $100 and she paid it almost immediately. Four days later, on June 13 I received my first actual contact from [redacted]. She sent me an email asking for photos of the bed. I sent her the same three photos that had appeared on Facebook the week before. She then sent back a very short and very vague email that read (in its entirety) as follows:Can I make  a few changesGrey instead of green base and pink instead of orange. And plain post[redacted]While I was under no contractual obligation whatsoever to complete these requests as she had already paid for the bed four days earlier and this was NEVER discussed as a custom order, I agreed out of the goodness of my heart to spend an additional 6 hours of my time doing so. I also immediately wrote back that while I could complete her requests, there was absolutely no way I could have it done by the original delivery date. She responded right away that this was not an issue as [redacted]'s first birthday isn't until early July so she didn't need it until July 1st. We continued to keep in contact through the delivery of the bed on June 30 (before the deadline she gave) and I sent her three more photos (attached below) of the completed bed prior to delivery. On July 30, I met her in the parking lot of [redacted] in Evansville, IN (per her request) and handed the bed off to her. I was delivering the custom piece ordered by [redacted] at the same time so we all spent about 20 minutes in the parking lot. I returned to my car and drove off. While heading down the road towards my next delivery, I received a strange phone call from [redacted] saying she now decided that "she just doesn't like the bed". I was surprised as she said nothing of this 5 minutes earlier. She was unable to give me any specifics but kept saying things like "I'm sorry, I guess I just don't know what I was expecting".  I don't mean to be crass, but if you don't know what you're expecting, how am I supposed to??? I'm not a mind reader!! I explained to her that I was already headed to another location so no I would not be driving back out to meet her again. We could discuss everything once I'd returned home and come up with a resolution. I didn't return home until after 10pm. I contacted my attorney on Friday for clarification on my legal obligations, but because of the holiday, I didn't hear back until Tuesday the 5th. [redacted] called and texted repeated during this time so on the 5th I responded that according to my attorney I had fulfilled all of my contractual obligations (actually going above and beyond) and that if she had any questions she could contact him directly. In the meantime, [redacted] began contacting my 60 year old mother-in-law (who's name she was never even given) at her place of employment and threatening to drop the piece off with her. I explained that my mother-in-law had nothing to do with this business, nor would it be her responsibility to carry the heavy piece around or drive the 300 miles round-trip to return it to me. I then explained, (after talking to my attorney again) that if she still insisted on returning the item, she would be responsible for getting it back to me (at her own expense). With regards to the "chip" in the table, this was clearly evident in both sets of pictures she was sent. As I've stated from the very beginning, this is an OLD coffee table that I flipped upside down to turn into a dog beg. This is not a piece I take custom orders for as I could never guarantee that I could find another 50 year old table that was exactly the same. She purchased a completed piece that I had already created and I agreed to change the spelling of one word...that's it.
