Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
First of all this dispute has nothing to do with any type of reimbursement for our phones, there fore customer opinions about what my aunt and I do with our phones, is obsoleteOur dispute is that we were treated with disrespect and yelled at as if we were stupidWe were never told anything about bi-hourly rentalI discovered that on my own time on your websiteWe also were never offered any assistance because the gentleman who should've helped us (again blue shirt and khakis, was too busy sitting down talking either another gentlemen in a white shirt (who if he was employed with the company as well, he wasn't doing anything either and if not then obviously the gentleman was a distraction to the associate working)We were waiting out front for quite awhile watching them talk before we said that we would walk the kayak over ourselvesI had gotten into the kayak which flipped and my aunt helped me out of the waterStill no one was found around to help and another customer had to go and tell the gentleman that we needed assistanceHe then came over and again raised his voice at me about the kayak being in the water(What did he want me to do? Jump back in and go fetch it? If so she should've said something.) Instead he raised his voice towards me about how he kayak was in the water and went angrily back to the storeIn the meantime my grandparents and my other aunt were up at the store because they had seen what happenedThey never once were told to leave the store because it needed to be closedThe woman went and obtained the kayak which again we ended up carrying back to the store ourselves because the gentleman was supposed to be watching the store in the meantime(Whether he was watching the store or not is not relevant because frankly I could care less.) Also there was no need to yell at my grandfather for asking a simple questionAs I stated previously I refuse to do business which such rude, unfriendly individuals who clearly took out their frustrations on potential customers which they lostWhat I care about is mainly a refund for the daily rental that we never even used for ten minutes, let alone a dayAnd for the rudeness towards not only myself, but again my grandfather, whom the gentleman proceeded to scream at when my grandfather asked for a refundThere was no reason to be a jerk to an older man or a jerk to a young woman or to anyone for that matterI don't remember having to be rude to the customers as a qualification to be a store associateWe are absolutely apauled by the quality of the customer service we have revived with this company and do not recommend it to anyone after this incidentAgain we are requesting a refund due to the fact that we were in posession of the kayak for less than a half hour al together (including briefing and showing us the map in the store) and because of the rudeness of the gentleman associate towards my family and myselfWe would've considered going again to "redeem" the day the we had missed, however we feel we were treated with disrespected and do not want to conduct any further business with this company.
Regards,

Our company policy is not to conduct any hourly rentalsThe company website states that the minimum hourly rental is two hoursIn this case after discussing the rate the women decided to rent a tandem kayak at $plus taxThis was explained to the two woman before they signed any paper
workThe paper work is a company release to go onto the water and a security deposit slipAt the counter *** & *** (aunt & niece) and another couple were shown the route they could paddle via map and verbal instructionsOutside in the parking lot each individual was handed a life jacket and paddleVerbal instructions were begun to be provided when I (Christine B***) was informed that they know to get into a kayakI reiterated that the dock is a kayak dock and getting in is different than getting in from other docksI was again informed that they know how to get into a kayak
The kayak was picked up by both woman and taken over to the dockShortly thereafter I (Christine) was informed that the tandem kayak was flipped and floating down the creekCash registers were shut down and customers were asked to leave the store so I could go retrieve the kayak
The kayak was retrieved and brought back to the dockBecause the kayak was 85% full of water I was unable to empty the kayakI had to ask for assistance from Oren in order to empty the kayakAll customers were waiting in the parking lot until we both returned to the store
There was no damage to the tandem kayak and the gear (paddles) were returned to the store
As far as the keys go - I recommended that any electronics be left behind in either the car or the storeThe keys were left in the storeI was told there should be no problems with the phone on the water
Afterwards in the parking lot there was discussion with among other customers about flipping over from the dockOne comment from a customer was - why did you step into the kayak and why would you take your phone with you?
Instructions on how to get into the kayak from a kayak dock were not fully explained because the customer advised that they know how to get into a kayak
The unfortunate incident happened and on 9/1/in an email back to the customer it was explained that no refund would be provided because the company did nothing wrong in providing the serviceAn offer was presented for the couple to come back and we would give them their tandem rental for the day at no additional charge
At this time we continue to maintain our position that the incident happened as a result of the customers entering the kayak improperlyWe will not issue a refund but will met our prior obligation of a days rentalChristine B***
