Patio Deck Fence Builders Reviews (%countItem)

I signed contract with builder for a fence to be installed on November 1st, 2018. Today is July 24, 2019 and fence still has not been properly installed, staples were used to fasten boards which owner stated via text message to be this was not the proper way. Boards are warping and falling off, Owner stated because I have not sealed or stain fence is why boards are falling off and warping. Why would I stain a fence if it has been acknowledged the boards were not properly secured?

Patio Deck Fence Builders Response • Jul 25, 2019

PDF Builders built the particular fence design they requested and as requested. A clear discussion was made between *** and Brandon that if any boards were separated we would correct them. We even offered to provide addition materials, by using a picket vertically in the middle of every section to prevent boards from separating over the span from post to post. However between that discussion and PDF Builders correcting any situation, *** clearly messaged me twice saying he did not want us touching his fence to repair as discussed and was going to file with our bond company. So we were waiting for that investigation to take place. In addition we did advice *** regardless, that the fence was way over due for a stain or seal and to prolong the protection of the materials would not help but make things worst. There is a real simple solution with simple warranty work to resolve this matter.

PDF builders was contacted Feb 7th, 2019 via text message with pictures showing broads falling off fence. Fence was "completed" Dec 24th, 2018 and paid in full. PDF had opportunity multiple times to come out and remedy the fence boards falling off and secure fence boards using proper hardware. Brandon did come out a couple times and installed screws/nails randomly in the fence, however fence boards are still falling off. Numerous staples, nails, screws are exposed in the fence. Brandon also stated via text that staples should not have been used to secure fence boards. I have two images from google which Brandon was sent via text showing the design we wanted and what we expected the fence to look like. Brandon keeps stating I have not sealed/stained fence yet is why boards are warping. If boards are not secured properly from the initial install why would I seal/stain the fence? I have would be happy to share the text message communications between Brandon and myself so Revdex.com can see the run around and all the excuses I have received. Installing pickets between the posts as Brandon stated would alter the look of the fence we expected. I would gladly welcome Revdex.com representative, 6 on your side and any other fence contractors to my home to see the workmanship that PDF builders did and would like other fence contractors to give me estimates to properly fix the fence. Brandon will not do any further work to my fence, I would like another fence contractor to come out and give an estimate to properly install this style fence. I retrieved permit from Village that PDF builders obtained prior to doing my fence, on the permit it states cost of construction $2,000, I am assuming that was a rough estimate for materials, I paid $7200 for the fence total, so I essentially paid $5200 for poor workmanship. Brandon was out for the post hole digging and that was it, once holes were dug and posts set it was Jason and the other worker who worked with Jason- which varied each day - including a teenager some days, I paid for a professionally installed fence and did not receive that. I have contacted the Village of *** zoning inspector, he will be out next week to inspect. I also contacted nationwide mutual insurance for bond claim and was advised that PDF builders bond did not go into place until January 1st, 2019 but Brandon signed bond registration with Village on November 6th, 2018. I am rejecting because PDF builders has had the opportunity numerous times since February to remedy issues and now wants to add pickets between posts which will alter the appearance of the fence causing the fence to not have the appearance we signed a contract for. I left a review on PDF builders *** page and received a response from Brandon via *** review and when I posted the images Brandon was sent of our fence expectations, pictures of our fence currently and screen shots of Brandon and myselfs text messages Brandon closed down the PDF builders *** page once facts I had were presented in which he could not deny.

We paid to have a fence installed. The fence was installed and a lot of mistakes were made. We
contacted the owner of the company who came out and was to repair the fence. He brought boards that
were smaller then the original boards and a different type of wood. They were cut to short and after
"repairing" the gate there was a large gab at the bottom of it that my dog can get under. He left after
"repairing" a few weeks ago without saying a word to us. We sent several text messages which went
unanswered until we said we would just file a complaint and send him the bill after having it fixed the
right way by an honest and dependable company. Finally after 6 messages and the mention of a
complaint the owner sets up a specific date and time to come do repairs. My wife and myself adjusted
our work schedules so one of us could be there to speak with him and he never showed up. Sent a text
asking where he was and no reply. We were told there was a warranty and all repairs would be done. I
have plenty of pictures and screenshots of conversations and receipt for payments.
