Business states that they have contacted the consumer directlyThey have met with him on site and believe the issues have been addressed and the matter resolved

I am rejecting this response because:The owner's representation of his phone call with me is fabricated and fictitious I merely wanted to proceed with the original project, as I had all along, and deal with the coupon issue as a separate matter He seemed to have identified me as a problem customer which I certainly am not I do not believe it was unreasonable to try and use an apparently valid coupon, and that very act seemed to inflame a lot of hostility from the business owner, even though it would be his responsibility to deal with a company that he feels is generating coupons for his business against his will I believe that he is unwilling to proceed with the planned installation because I am an older person and my wife and I are both physically handicapped [redacted] ***

Mr [redacted] signed and entered into a contract with a representative from our office on 1-5- On Saturday 1-7-Mr [redacted] called and left a message on our office line that he saw a $off coupon on [redacted] .com and wants that discount applied to the contract he had signedI looked into this [redacted] .com coupon and it is a digital coupon that renews it’s expiration date every day you go on their site It was an ad campaign that I signed up for a year term on over years ago This website has outdated information on it regarding our business and I have reached out to them to take down our information unsuccessfully several times These 3rd party websites that went up to promote businesses in communities in the area have since closed or remain unmanaged by the people that originated them Regardless I called Mr [redacted] myself after talking to my representative to get the back ground details My representative talked with Mr [redacted] on 1-10-regarding his request for the $discount It was explained to him that even if it was a valid coupon it states that it is not valid with any other offersHe explained to him that the negotiations and discounts he had already received, which in turn created the offer he acceptedMy representative informed Mr [redacted] that because his job was already discounted more than the requested extra $that we could not honor the coupon or discount his job any further Mr [redacted] was unhappy with the response and wanted a few days to think about it before we started his jobOn 1-16-my representative received the following email from Mr***.“Hi ***:I think the entire round of excuse making about a valid coupon is not very professional or courteous on the part of your company and I will deal with it through another avenue Please go forward with the planned installation as soon as weather permitsThank you[redacted] ***” After forwarding this email to the office my representative was concerned that Mr***’s intentions were not going to be honorable and was afraid that we would not get paid after completing his job I agreed that I needed to talk to Mr [redacted] directly to better understand his position and intentionsI was also hoping common sense and ethically he would understand that; 1) We had already given him discounts that well exceeded the coupon amount2) The coupon was not issued by us and was not valid 3) Even if it were a valid coupon it clearly states “not good with any other offer” I did call myself on 1-16-I tried to address Mr***’s concerns regarding the extra discount that he requested and asked for clarification regarding his email about dealing with it “through another avenue” Mr [redacted] was unreasonable from the moment that he answered the phone It was immediately apparent that he had no interest in hearing any rational explanationsMy efforts to try and calm the situation over the phone were unsuccessful as Mr [redacted] was vague about how he was going to deal with us regarding the extra $he thought he was entitled too After urging him to explain himself he stated that he doesn’t have to tell me what his plans were and ordered me to move forward with the projectI voiced my concerns and the fact that I did not feel comfortable starting a project with someone who has taken a hostile stance before the project even beganTo confirm my suspicion of his devious character he promised to advance a smear campaign and filings that would cost me more than the $additional discount he was requesting This very complaint that I am replying to now is proof of his hostile intensions Moving forward with his contract made no sense since it was clear we were dealing with someone with a devious character The best resolution was to cancel his contract and send his deposit back He was notified of this via email on 1-16-immediately after my phone conversation with him Let me know if you need copies of the contract, emails or the refund check [redacted]
