Review: We began building our home in November 2013 with [redacted] of Patriot Homes. They advertise a 120-150 day building period on their website. We were given a closing date of April 30, 2014. Two months before we were scheduled to close, we confirmed that our closing date we were given was still good and we sold our existing home. 1-2 weeks prior to our given closing date, we were told that they needed an additional 2 weeks and could close the week of May 12. We agreed and had a moving company set up for May 16. That week the builder again told us we could not close because the work was not done. We had to cancel our move. Because we had sold our house we had to be out of our old house by May 31. Again, the builder postponed our closing date to the following week. We finally closed on our house on May 22. However the work was not yet complete. The stone work on the fire place and exterior still needed done and the stairs leading off of our back patio still needed to be completed. The bank decided to withhold 1.5x the cost of the stone work but nothing for the stairs. The builder told us the stone work would be completed within the next week and the stiars in 2-3 weeks. The stone work was complete as we were told but as of July 1 our stairs were not complete. I had again begun contact with the builder requesting our stairs be completed before July 19 when we had a party planned at our house. He told us that t was a 3.5 day job they would be done by July 19. Two deep holes were dug in my back yard on July 11 where cement was to be poured. No futher work was done until July 17 through the 19th. As of today, July 21, the steps are not completed and they builder is working on a different home in the community. There are 11 steps and NO RAILING on them. We were told yesterday that they ran out of material and would have it today. There is currently no work being done on my steps and not having a railing poses a safety concern in genereal and because I have a 2 year old son.Desired Settlement: Stairs/railing to completed ASAP - today 7/21/2014 or tomorrow 7/22/2014.
