We did not offer a warrenty, we offered to replace the tree with a discount. The tree died due to an incurable disease (fire blight)that effects trees in the *** family. Sometimes this disease can be pruned out of the tree which is a labor intensive process that involves cleaning your
pruning implements after every cut with alcohol so as not to spread the infection, upon further inspection her neighbors tree was covered in "fire blight" and it was spread from her neighbor's tree to her tree. The tree did not come infected from the nursery, nor did it get infected in our care. We Pruned the fireblight out of the tree for free as well as fertilized the tree for free. We then once the tree was dead offered to remove the tree for free, as well as give her a $discount on the planting. I've included the original email thread where she was quoted for the trees as well as the quote where you can see we never offered a warranty for the treesI've also included the another email chain from her where we gave her the costs on the new trees with the discount. The new trees she wanted were more expensive from the nursery thus they would have a higher planting cost (though with the discount its still cheaper than the original planting). We feel we've gone above and beyond in this situation and were willing to meet her half way by giving her free work on the existing tree and offering a free removal and a discount on the replacement tree

I noticed there is a drip there, which is good, I am just curious as the soil seemed very dry.Since it has live tips all the way around, I am hopeful for it next seasonWe will definitely keep an eye on it, and if it doesn't look good in the spring we will replace itDon't forget to do some winter watering as well, I have attached my care sheet for newly planted treesLet me know if you have any questions. ***On Fri, Sep 16, at 4:PM, *** *** *** wrote:Did you get a chance to stop by and take a look? Also, Patriot Tree Company advertises that they are Revdex.com accredited on their website but on the Revdex.com website, it says they are not an accredited business. I want to say that when they removed our old trees in the fall of 2015, I was extremely impressed with their service which is why I contacted them the next spring to re-plant new trees in those spots I was verbally told then (by ***) that the trees had a one year warranty which in my previous experience seems to be the standard in this industry In fact, I have talked with several people who have used several other landscapers and all of them said their trees and bushes came with a year warranty You can see from ***'s email, that when he says they would replace it in spring, he implies that it is under warranty but asked me to wait until after winter to see if it would survive At the very least, I would think they would replace it at their cost of the tree, instead of just a $discount off their "marked up price" I definitely have learned that I will ask for warranties in writing from now on
Sincerely,
