Pat's Small Engine Reviews (%countItem)

Received jiffy ice auger fuel tank and extra fuel line and grommet 48 hours after ordering. Didn't need to use customer service cause it was delivered before I expected it. The other reviews are people just hating on great service period.

I ordered a part for my mower. The web site clearly states the part number for an X-one Hustler is 603162. See this page on their web site: http://www.psep.biz/store/hustler_lawn_mower_flex_forks.htm. I got the part and it did not fit. They told me that I ordered the wrong part and it should have been a 603167 but that is not what the web site says. I tried to talk to the manager but he said that was the wrong number even though the web site said it was and he said they would take it back if I paid the freight (About $50.00 and a Restocking Charge of $28.00.
So they concluded I ordered the wrong part and I tried to reason with them but they would not budge an inch. If you purchase a part from this store don't expect to speak to an intelligent person
if you have to return it.

I was given the wrong part number and ordered from this Hustler dealer. Hustler gave me the part number and that is what Pat's sent but it was the wrong number. Now then want $28 return fee and
I have to pay the freight which is close to $50.00. I ordered this same part from another dealer and they took it back and gave me a credit. I am waiting for a phone call from Hustler to see if they will help. I do not feel that Pat's treated me fair. While it was true it was not their fault and it was Hustler's fault they would not help me out like another dealer did. I just think this is bad business.

Absolutely do not do business with this company. Their questionable business practices will cost you money. They send the the wrong part and THEN tell you it is special order item and there is no refund, no where on the paperwork does it say special order. Your only told that it is a special order item when you need to return it, BECAUSE THEY SENT WRONG ITEM. I sure don’t understand how the Revdex.com can give this business an A+. (What a JOKE)

I have reviewed your order information, and I have spoke with our returns department. We shipped out the item that you had ordered that was stated on your order confirmation when you placed the order online. It states on the bottom of your invoice that "All returns and warranties require an RA#, see our website for policy and procedure" When you visit our website, under our returns and warranties page it states that if you are unsure if an item is special order to please call us before submitting the order. Also, before you hit submit order, there is a box that you have to check and by checking that box you agree to all our policies. Since there was no error made on Pat's Small Engine (PSEP) parts, we were unable to take the item back as it was special order. I apologize you were unhappy with our service.

I paid around 746 for a transmission for my mower. I found that we had ordered the wrong one. I sent it back and paid for the shipping. The company is deducting $150from my refund for restocking purposes. The lady ask me if someone had told me that and they had not. I think that that is an unreasonable amount to charge to restock a part (20%). I will not be ordering from them again and feel that others should know.

As stated on our website whole good items such as; engines, transmissions, short blocks, etc. are non-returnable items. All other item's have a 20% restocking fee. *** had called to set up a return with our returns department. Our returns department made an exception and took the transmission back, even though it states on our website that is it non-returnable. When Ms. set up the return and received the RA# and sent the transmission back, she was agreeing to our return policy that is stated on our website. I have attached a copy of our returns page that is on our website for reference.

On 1 August 2017 I ordered a Kohler engine CH20S short block from Pats Small Engine, Isanti, MN 55040. The cost $863.48 was competitive with most other retailers. Pats engines was given all the necessary information, Engine Family number, specification number, and serial number. At the time of ordering I specifically asked if the part they were getting would work in my application, a John Deere F620 lawnmower. The sellers answer was "Absolutely, this is what you need." The block arrived reasonably prompt but an incorrect crankshaft was installed. I called Pats , explained the problem, and stated that it would have to be returned. The sellers rude response was "We don't normally take returns"!!
REALLY??? A customer is charged $863 , sent a worthless part, and they won't take it back??? The employee at Pats suggested that I purchase a new crankshaft [At $250-$300] and install it myself. Or another suggestion was go to a local John Deere dealer and pay them about $2000 for what's needed. Next morning I called Kohler's technical services department. After giving them the exact same information that Pats had been given the tech said that Pats had ordered the wrong block. Called Pats again and a very rude person reluctantly gave me a return authorization and stated that 25% of the total price would be deducted before any money was returned. This mix-up was totally Pats Small engine's fault and responsibility. The engine was returned exactly as received so the entire purchase price should be reimbursed and also the $80 shipping to return it should be reimbursed. During a follow-up phone call a few days later I was told that I should consider myself lucky that they took the block back and I received any money at all!!! UNBELIEVEABLE!!

Over the years a huge negative dive in getting parts shipped expediently, for one. Order one day and depending on which day, nearly a week they justify in getting it shipped. AND if part of the order goes on back order, you don't know it but they don't ship the order until it's all in. Weeks, sometimes, and you don't know because the order just doesn't come, and doesn't come. They also don't inform you of this. You have to call and find out each time if something went back order. I've spent $1000's at this business and have repeatedly talked with them about these issues... even just send me an email! It seems to fall on deaf ears. Good prices, yes. But when your business depends on these parts to keep going day by day... ??
