Patterson Homes Reviews (%countItem)

My prior experiences with OTHER construction projects in my home read like Brittney's review on her project. This made me quite hesitant to bring Patterson Homes into my house for a decon/recon of water damage issue. A manager who's name I can't recall phoned me. He lessened my fears explaining he hired new people in key areas that will get the job done to my satisfaction.

The project began and the on site manager, Alex T convinced me with action not words that I was going be very satisfied with the work done in my home. Now that job has been completed I can say that the project in my home was done expeditiously, with excellent quality of materials and craftsmen to my complete satisfaction. I recommend Patterson Homes to take of your needs without hesitation.

Superintendent; Skyler seemed not to want to answer simple questions. Charged me$ 1600 in carpet restocking fees BECAUSE the carpet that arrived at my house wasn't comparable to what I had or choose.
Lack in communication, always felt as if something fishy going on with them and insurance company.
They certainly don't go out of their way to find what YOU want. It's not their home, course not.

Overall they did ok. I had my floors redone, kitchen nets repainted, new backsplash installed and new countertops.
There are drip marks on my cabinets. They used a matte finish paint instead of semigloss.
The contractors did not clean up after them selves at all. My main contact was great. But pieces of my old floor are all over. There is trash all over my yard. Trash left in my house. The filled my trash can with materials from the demo instead of hauling it away. I would not recommend them at all.

I began working with this company in March of 2018. I had a decent size job, remodeling my kitchen, master bathroom, and redoing flooring in 4 rooms, hallway & stairs in a 4 bdrm 2,400 sqft house. It is not an exaggeration when I say something went wrong at every single step of this project.
Our first superintendent was Mike who quit the company a few weeks into our project with no notice. This was troubling because we liked Mike and he was a big reason why we hired the company. It was especially worrying because after speaking with him following his resignation, he cited the integrity of the company as a primary reason for his leaving. We hoped it was just sour grapes, but we've later come to find out almost half the company left at the same time for form their own, better company. So if you're wondering were all the older good reviews came from... probably from all of those other guys who are now long gone from this circus. Anyway, he was replaced by Darren who gave a lot of lip service about being the best of the best and having no problem picking up where Mike left off. He's a smooth talker and a good salesman I'll give him that, but unfortunately in our experience was horrible as a project manager with no oversight or follow through. He was almost never at our home overseeing the project or quality of work. The only time we'd see him was for damage control after we complained enough. Then there's the owner, Ryan. We reached out to him twice during this project and NEVER got a response either time! He very unprofessionally forwarded our concerns on to the same employee we were expressing concerns over in the first place, doing nothing to address the issues and simply making the whole situation more uncomfortable for us to deal with. This lack of communication and concern for customers really seems to reflect what Patterson is all about. They don't seem to care much about their customers or their quality of work as long as they get paid. So with that I'll list just some of the seemingly endless screw ups we dealt with in hopes of helping you think twice before hiring this company:
#1. We explicitly asked for, and the formal bid that we signed clearly stated the newly constructed kitchen & bathroom cabinets we're to be ALL plywood construction...however much of the boxes and all of the shelves that were installed are PARTICLE BOARD. When questioned, all we got was a bunch of doubletalk and construction buzzwords to make it sound like we got what we asked for when we clearly did not.
#2. The bid we signed guaranteed our cabinets would be lacquered for anti scuff & scratch. Yeah...they scratch extremely easily and with the way the paint color transfers when wiped with a paper towel in some areas, whether they were really completely lacquered is questionable. Darren refused to do anything about it except say the bid should have never said anything about scratch resistance...well, it does! They touched up a few scuffs they left (at our request, because even the most obvious mess ups were always left unless we said something) with paint and definitely did not lacquere over these spots, but Darren was sure to YELL at me over the phone for pointing out too many of their screw ups!
#3. ALL of the cheap particle board shelves they put in my kitchen & bathroom cabinets are chipped up and scratched and there is a giant hole in one of the cabinets (will post pictures). How anyone would think these shoddy shelves were ever ok to install with such defects is beyond me.
#4. The plumber (Dion) tightened my oil rubbed bronze bathtub faucet with some type of rough tool that completely scuffed up the finish...and just left it like that without saying anything like I wouldn't notice. They did replace this one after I complained enough, but their billing and book keeping is so bad that I have no way to know for sure they didn't find a way to double charge me for it and any other screw ups they went back and "fixed" anyway.
#6. This same plumber, after the mistake without mention above, was sent to install our touch activated kitchen sink faucet, meaning there are electronic components that turn it off/on with a tap. He installed it as a regular manual sink faucet and completely neglected to install the electronics and to this day it's a mystery if it's because he just couldn't figure out how or what. He installs as a manual faucet and leaves again without saying anything like we aren't going to notice. But when he left he took all of the electronics to the faucet with him for some unknown but seemingly sketchy reason. I know they were there, I opened the box to look at the faucet before he got there and saw all the parts. So when we complain they say woops sorry, but we don't have the parts anymore, don't know where they went...they should have never left my house! Eventually they were able to pull parts together from a local plumbing supply store. They work but aren't an exact fit for the model and don't look quite right in appearance.
#7. All 3 sinks their plumber installed have leaked within 2 months of use...fixed them myself because yeah...not having that same guy in my house again.
#8. ALL of the grout they used to tile the master bed, master bath floor, shower floor & wall had to be redyed because the color was extremely splotchy and just OFF. But of course, they just left it looking so obviously terrible without a peep until we mention it. So they finally go back and fix, which of course takes multiple attempts because if we don't point out every little spot (or even if we do!) they aren't going to catch it all. It's still not great in a few areas, but with this company it's something you just have to learn to live with.
#9. They DO NOT clean up after themselves!! My brand new cabinets were so filthy and took me days to clean out all the dust and pencil marks they left! They did drywall after installing new cabinets and didn't cover them at all so drywall dust everywhere. They really didn't cover much of anything and were ok will letting the dust get all over my house and furniture. My front yard was full of grout because the guys just dumped out their buckets causing grout to cake up (this did this TWICE). I had wood glue all over my kitchen floor that was left. When they touched up paint on the cabinets they didn't do any masking and got overspray on the walls and just left it. They cut wood in my front yard without covering the area and left a bunch of sawdust caked up in the gravel. Their cigarette butts were left all over my front yard. Old rusty tools and other trash left everywhere. We still have hundreds of pounds of unused backer board we repeatedly asked them to pick up. Just completely unacceptable stuff.
#10. They DO NOT know how to install and grout a beveled edge tile backsplash. Took them THREE times to do it correctly, and they only did it because we persisted. First two attempts were so obviously poorly done and defective it's insane we had to point it out and ask them to redo it in the first place.
#11. Our stairs would squeak when you walked on them. From the very beginning I asked that this be fixed after removing the old carpet, but before laying down the new carpet. Darren claimed he never knew about it even though we discussed, and how could he not know when he walked on the stairs the few times he was actually there and could hear it. Anyways, Darren himself came to try and tighten down the wood stairs using a hammer and nails... obviously the nail just bent. He said "I'll have to Google ways to fix this because I don't know how." Not exactly inspiring confidence in your project's superintendent. Took care of it ourselves.
#12. Installed the WRONG carpet pad. We bought very high quality carpet and wanted the highest quality pad to match. Not only for comfort but for the extending warranty through Mohawk for using their premium pad. Well Darren and his team installed cheap home depot pad. After bringing it to Darren's attention he tried to doubletalk me & tell me it's a great pad and I'd still have the warranty and refused to fix THEIR mistake. He said "I didn't know" (he says this a lot...) but even if he didn't know why the heck wouldn't he ask me & just install whatever he wanted? This isn't his house or money. We stood our ground and eventually they swapped out the pad after a lengthy standoff where we had to walk up and down stairs with no carpeting and all the tack strips exposed...sort of like walking a minefield in your own home.
#13. Not only did they neglect to pull proper permits for this project, but they actively confirmed to us multiple times that permits were absolutely not required for the scope of this project...Wrong! We came to find out after all the work is done that they were indeed required. This is likely to cause me a lot of issues down the road when I choose to sell. Their response was essentially that permits are just a money grab for the city and they never get them because it's really not necessary and that's just what they always do so it's ok. Licensed contractor completely fine with doing unpermitted work here folks.
#14. The project took 2 months over the projected completion date. And the only reason why it's "done" is because I do not want anyone from this company stepping foot in my house ever again. So I'm essentially left without a warranty because yeah...never again.
I had to hire another company to fix Patterson's crappy work and mistakes. I urge anyone reading this to think twice and require real references before ever dealing with this company!!

Had a leak in my upstairs bathroom and had to have the entire bathroom remodeled. I got the pleasure of working with Matt Hintze. He made the entire stressful situation dissipate by handling all the details. My upstairs bathroom is the most prestine and beautiful bathroom in my house. I look forward to working with Matt Hintze and Patterson Homes in all my future remodeling projects.

I used Patterson Homes to paint the interior of my house. I could not be happier. They we quick and did a great job. Sam was very helpful and knowledgeable and made the process seamless.

We began working with the Patterson Homes group in late March 2018 after our home had a fire in December. Their bid was the most practical with the least “out of pocket” expenses for us. In fact they came in on budget. More importantly they agreed to do a “down to the studs” rebuild of a 4 bedroom home with 2000 sq. ft. including an attached workshop on a 5 week timeline which they met. This timeline included time to get permits, order materials, schedule the inspector’s, handling abatement and debris removal, and deal with the insurance company. Other bids were 5-6 months for the rebuild which would have put a great deal of stress on the family. We were making the mortgage payments all during this time so the shortened timeline was outstanding.
From the first day they arrived, they were professional, timely, fully staffed, knowledgeable about all the procedures, and code upgrades. The upgrades could have been extensive since the original home was built in the 1970s. Within the first two weeks, their designer met with us to choose colors of paint, flooring, counter tops, shelving and more. She came back in once the flooring was complete to make sure the choice of paint for the walls was appropriate and complimentary. To our surprise and appreciation, they made upgrades in materials that we didn’t request. The owner, Ryan, told me “it was the right thing to do”. Their attention to detail was a gift.
While on vacation, Ryan called me with an update of where they were in the project. My passenger was a real estate business woman. She told Ryan that in her 12 years of business she had never had a contractor call her to give information about her home remodel
As we walked through the house, we found things that needed to be changed. There was never an argument. Sometimes there was a discussion, and sometimes we paid for a change. This company provides a two year warranty on their work. As we move back into the house, we feel it is a brand new home.
We highly recommend this company for home rebuilds. You will not go wrong choosing this company to do your new home or a restoration.

Brandon G did amazing work on our home. He built a custom entertainment center for us that turned out exactly as I was hoping. He is very professional, hard working and skilled at what he does. We’ve hired him for several other jobs (one being for flooding repairs) and we will continue to call him for all our home renovations and repairs. Brandon is the best in the business!

I'm a real estate investor here in the valley. I recently had a project I needed to complete in a timely manner but my regular contractors were both tied up with other projects. After making several calls to other contractors who were referred to me by peers in the industry, they too were all busy or unable to start when I needed them. That's when I came to this website searching for help. Based on their high reviews, I chose Patterson remodeling to complete my project. Darren was my project manager and handled everything from the start. He answered all my calls, emails and texts in a timely manner and was extremely flexible with additional requests I made to complete the job. The project was completed within specifications, budget and ON TIME. I would not hesitate in recommending Darren and his team and will be using them again in the future.

We hired Darren Lawson of Patterson Homes for what seemed like a small job...replace the glass window in our shower with glass blocks. Upon installation, the crew headed up by Jesse came across a few challenges—using the existing window frame with no damage to the frame itself/surrounding tiles and dealing with the exterior of the house. They worked tirelessly running back and forth to stores to get the materials needed to build out the frame to the exact specifications needed for the size of the glass blocks. We did come across an issue with the placement of some of the blocks but that was quickly fixed to our satisfaction. The team’s precision with framing and installing the glass block window was impeccable and there was no need to repair anything to the outside of the house, including the sunscreen that went exactly where it always sits. We ended this job by hiring Patterson Homes for additional work in our home. Great job Darren & Patterson Homes!

I had Patterson Homes install tile flooring throughout 4 bedrooms and a very large family room. Darren (the foreman) and Francisco (the installer) did an exceptional job. Both were professional and also personable. The floors look beautiful, and the job was completed on time and on budget. Even my OCD personality could not find any flaws with their work. I will definitely use them again in the future should other projects arise, and I would recommend them to others without hesitation.

Thank you Patterson Remodeling especially Brandon for working with us. Brandon helped us with our insurance company to get our water damage covered. I truly appreciate what he has done to make sure we were 100% satisfied. He worked with my busy schedule to make things go fast and smoothly. Thank you again Brandon and I will definitely recommend my friends and family for all of their remodeling needs.

We would highly recommend Patterson Homes & Remodeling to anyone planning a remodeling project! We worked with Dean Alonzo to replace tile in several areas of our home, and completely remodel our master bathroom—he was fantastic. From the time he came and gave us a quote, we knew we wanted to work with him. Jorge and his tile crew were meticulous and created a huge curbless walk-in shower on a post tension slab that is the foundation of our home. All the tile work is stunning and even when we asked for a modification everything was done with a smile. Carlos fabricated quartz countertops that are beautiful and create a luxurious spa like room. Jessie is a phenomenal carpenter and he can guide you with new and creative ideas. Kyle installed all our plumbing fixtures and left the work space in wonderful condition. Dean kept us informed everyday of what to expect, no surprises and our project was completed on time. Every one of the individuals involved in our project was polite, friendly and was committed to the delivery of satisfaction to us as the homeowner. Communication, follow-through and quality of all the work was beyond our expectations. We are very happy with our outcome and thank Patterson Homes & Remodeling for doing such a wonderful job.

We used Patterson Homes LLC to remodel an investment property and it turned out great! The project was completed on time and within budget. The property was listed and under contract immediately based on the amazing upgrades. We will continue to use Patterson Homes for all future investment properties.

Great experience! Our hot water heater leaked, and Matt got a team out right away to replace water heater and fix damage. Patterson made dealing with insurance a breeze, and quality of work is awesome. Thank you!

Mike did an amazing job on my remodel, he was reliable and his team was very professional. High quality work and we would highly recommend and will definitely use the Patterson team again.

Sam with Patterson is amazing!!! We had water damage in our kitchen and had to file a claim. Sam came by and walked me thru the entire claim process. After a couple of weeks of negations sam came back with great news that ill be getting a new kitchen with all new countertops. These pictures don't do justice of how amazing Patterson is, I truly found my forever contractor!

Patterson Homes was quick and professional! I would highly recommend them to any other medical offices. Treston was incredible to work with and got the guys out here to start and complete the job all in one evening so we could continue seeing patients the next day! As the business owner and doctor I am extremely pleased and grateful we were able to relocated the outlets in our waiting room so quickly.

Patterson Remodeling worked with me to help get my condo and the water damage that ensure situated. I am very glad that my life and peace of mind is back to normal. They worked with our insurance company to get things done. I will be referring them in the future to family and friends. Sam was my adjuster and got things done and his workers made my place look normal again.

I had a significant leak at my home and the plumber thought it wasn't that bad at all, but when I called Patterson and spoke with Sam he immediately sent someone over to properly diagnose the problem. With his knowledgeable staff they discovered the severity of the leak that was beyond what we could have imagined at first. Within a day or two he had guys there that packed all of my belongings away so they could attack the restoration. Upon completion I almost didn't recognize my home. They did such a phenomenal job that it looks like it should be in a magazine. Patterson is a customer friendly business who does great work in a timely fashion.
