Do not trust these people! If I could have I would not have even given 1 star. They forged a document which was not at all what I had signed or agreed upon. They lie, cheat, and steal. And there business habits are very unethical. They also placed a lien against my property for work that I had not even agreed on them doing for me and before they had even billed me for the work or given me the option if I were going to pay them or not for the work they had stated they had done. I believe this was out of pure spite and vengeance because of the fact that after I had realized what was really going on, that I just did not allow them to continuing doing the work needed. Also after I took the lockbox off the door to my home which contained the key to my home and only after asking several times for them to not be working there and catching them still continuing to be there on numerous occasions, the general contractor then broke into my home. Very, very bad news! They have also been holding all of my home furnishings for over 2 years now and will not return them as I have requested due to the fact that I suppose they are holding these things as hostage for my nonpayment.

This project was sent to Paul Davis Restoration by a TPA (Third Party Administrator). The price list for materials and labor is from a national estimating software that we are required to useThe price increase was for repairs not included on the original estimateThe client wanted to
negotiate pricing, however, we don't negotiate pricingIf a customer doesn't want us to do the work for the price estimated, we walkPlain and simpleWe had performed minimal repairs at the client's house when he asked us to leaveWe billed for the work that was performedThere was never any discussion about payment for repairs not performedI *** to reduce the invoice by 50% to settle the matter and the client refused to pay anything. He wants the work done for freeNo employee begged for the job back. We realized it was a very toxic situation after he referred to my employee as my "boy" and the subcontractors as "looking like Meth Heads"

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
No contract was ever signed.  They were trying to get me to pay for work and materials not used or done.  (i.e. Repalcing 8 smoke alarms)  I don't even have 8 smoke detectors.  Also, they did not show up for [redacted] upon work schedule.  I was not trying to negotiate price.  There were double billing issues with many of the line items.  [redacted]s and [redacted] would not explain these issues.  Only response was " Its the system."  Well that leads me to believe they are only after the dollar and not customer appreciation or respect.  They refuse to look at their own drawings and notes that [redacted] wrote up.  Based on this I am NOT satisfied with the resolution.  Paul Davis's Bristol, VA branch is untruthful and rude. Regards,
[redacted]

PDR performed repairs for one day at Mr [redacted]'s home.  Ceiling texture was scraped and removed from the den ceiling,  9 light fixtures were removed, 8 smoke detectors were removed, drop cloths were used to cover and protect the work area. the fixtures and debris were taken to the county dump.  Mr. [redacted] DID NOT PAY PDR ANY MONEY FOR THIS WORK! He wants it done for free. He thinks he can complain to Revdex.com AND make statements on YELP that are completely false, to get out of paying for the work done at his house.Thank you, [redacted]s

Review: Company was hired to do mold remediation and construction at my home. The last week of August was the first instance of homophobic behavior with two employees who rolled their eyes, poked each other and laughed when I and my partner came into the room. I contacted the supervisor([redacted]) and told him I did not want these employees back on the property. This was discussed with the owner's representative and they were replaced. He assured me that this would not happen again and that the company would not have employees who acted in such a manner. The supervisor told me that they were brothers and in talking with them that he believed his employees that they did not do these actions. The actions were seen by both my partner and myself. He stated that he believed his employees...thus he was calling us liars. September 11, 2013 The second situation occurred when I called the supervisor about items that were on a truck for discard that should have been saved and placed in storage. During the conversation with the supervisor the two employees were looking in the window at my partner and joking around with their supervisor on the phone. It was very specific as my partner heard them say; "yes he's here" while looking straight at my partner, laughing and making homophobic comments. The supervisor was notified that these men were not to be back on the property also. All problems to this date had been with men on the workforce not the ladies. The third situation occurred on Friday, September 13th when my partner came outside while I was talking to the project supervisor. The supervisor said to him "I know you, you're from ..."; my partners reply was I know you too. You're the [redacted] who called me [redacted] physically assaulted me, tripped me and shoved me on the bus and slammed me into lockers all during high school". The statement was made that it was no wonder the staff of [redacted] acted in the manner in which they did and management did nothing. [redacted] said to his staff," that's it, get our equipment we're out of here". I told them just to leave. On his departure [redacted] again called my partner a [redacted] His crew left leaving furniture and antiques setting outside in the open. I called the company and told him to come back and get their equipment within the hour. They arrived back with Town of Abingdon Police, I also called the police and asked for a representative. They emptied out another storage trailer and left all items, including antique furniture setting outside on the ground. They also left open containers of hazardous mold sealing materials open in the basement, breathing masks, toxic cleaners and discarded hazardous material containers in a bag on the lawn plus personal items. [redacted] employees told us it was okay to be in the house. ServPro has continued their work and found mold which they did not remove and the work is being done over again, with additional testing, and time added to the project. Which left us exposed to black mold and contamination; Mr. [redacted] has now been told by his doctor that he requires treatment for exposure to black mold. I called the Corporate offices of [redacted] on September 13th and explained the situation and filed a compliant. Management at the corporate office stated that it was a private owner of the Tri-Cities operation and that they could only suggest. They notified me that they discussed the issues of the complaint with the owner and that the owner knew they would be observing for any future problems. I requested that they have the owner contact me in order for us to discuss the matter. They noted that they would pass the request along but it was up to the owner to make contact. They did report that he was investigating the claimed incidents. As of this date I have not heard back from the owner. We requested an apology for the actions of the [redacted] employees and have not received that either. The situation of the [redacted] Restoration of the Tri-Cities was also taken up with my insurer, [redacted], as they had recommended them for the work. [redacted] representative[redacted] also was reviewing the matter with his supervisor[redacted].Desired Settlement: Apology from [redacted] Restoration of the Tri-Cities for the manner in which their staff acted and comments made.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The actions by employees of the company were as defined. They owner was not present and I was and directly observed these actions. The actions were not done by the contracted employees of Paul Davis Restoration, but by their direct employees. All that was asked of the owner for a letter of apology; I do not think this is too much to ask. Their corporate headquarters Vice President for the region also requested they contact me and this was also not honored by the owner. I totally reject their response.
