Dear Ms***:I am in receipt of Ms***'s complaint that you forwarded to my office for our reviewIt appears that some of Ms.***'s comments are not consistent with our records and account of the facts relative to her complaint.We dispatched two of our field technicians to her home on
January 6th, to address a water damage issue in herbedroomMs*** asked one of our field technicians if the water damage to her bedroom would be covered under herinsurance policyOur field technician advised her that we do not know if it would be covered and she would need tocontact her insurance company to have that question answeredThe field technician informed Ms*** that if there wasa delay in drying out the affected area in her bedroom, microbial growth could possibly begin forming which would createanother issue to be dealt withMs*** signed the 'Emergency Services Work Authorization' form to have ourtechnicians begin the mitigation work that was needed to address the water damage in the bedroomMs*** alsosigned a second section of the document stating that her insurance company might not pay for services rendered and thatif they did not pay, she would be personally responsible for the balance dueFull disclosure was made to Ms*** andthe forms were signed before any work was started.It appeared as if the source of the water damage was coming from the roofTarps were placed over the roof to preventfurther damage.After the claims representative from her insurance company inspected the property damage loss and determined therewas no coverage for the loss, we were instructed by Mr*** to remove our equipment and cease any further mitigationwork.A billing statement, in the amount of $768.07, was prepared and forwarded to Ms*** for the services we provided.When payment was not received from Ms***, our mitigation supervisor called her to discuss the matterShe informedhim that she only had $in her checking account and could not pay the mitigation services bill.After reviewing the status of this account with the general manager of Paul Davis Restoration, the bill was reduced to$Ms*** stated once again she cannot pay the mitigation bill due to insufficient funds.We believe the charges incurred by Ms*** for the mitigation work performed at her home were reasonable andconsistent with industry standards and that full disclosure was made to her, before work began, that services renderedmight not be paid for by her insurance companyThe reduction to her bill was done to bring closure to this matter.However, the payment due of $is still outstandingPaul Davis Restoration will continue to pursue collection of theoutstanding balance.Thank you for allowing us to respond to Ms***'s complaint.Regards,Michael * S*General Manager
