This was the most unprofessional company I have ever experienced. They way over charged my insurance company lied to me and treated me like an ***. It concerns me as to how they treat others that don't understand the process of mitigation and billing. When I tried to reach out to them about it they acted like I was out of line. I had to have them come back 3 times and this was an EASY job. They still didnt complete it to satisfaction. I had removed all my flooring and drywall that had been damaged. They charged my insurance company for the removal. Thats just part of it. It would take me a while to type everything they did UNPROFESSIONALLY. Even after we discussed them charging $1000's incorrectly they revised the bill, didn't remove false charges and didnt bother to send me a copy of the bill before sending it to my insurance company to get paid. I will never ever use them again nor refer them to anyone. If you have elderly friends or family using them please protect them from getting ripped off bad. Their sales rep Michelle was the worst. SHe lied to me on a couple occasions and then gave me a bag of m&m's to smooth it over...for real . DO NOT USE THEM! I didnt want to give any star but have to give one...they dont deserve one!!!!I tried to get owner Dennis to call me and he wouldn't. BAD BUSINESS PEOPLE

We had a water leak in our home and Paul Davis Restoration showed up within 45 minutes of our call, they were polite, Informative, Professional and clean, they kept us informed through the whole process of what was going on and what to expect, they always scheduled there next appointment with us while here ...they were awesome and we would recommend them to anybody

I am reaching out is due to an unexpected situation that occurred on July 4th, 2019 when we were gone at my parent for my fathers birthday. We were gone for around 4 hours and as we got home and opened our garage to our split level home, we saw water coming through the ceiling of our garage. When entering the house from the garage, we noticed our laundry room and finished basement were doing the same thing (water leaking through the ceiling). As we ran up the stairs to the kitchen, our kitchen floors were flooded and it was running into our living room a bit as well. After seeing that our water line from our refrigerator to the sink was cracked and causing the flooding, I shut the water off to that particular hose.

I contacted *** to file a claim immediately so that they would send a company of theirs that they us to restore the house in order to dry everything out. While waiting on the company to arrive, my father rushed over to the house and we started to get the water off the kitchen and living room floors which took quite some time before the company arrived.

*** hired PaulDavis (based out of Fenton Missouri). Two guys showed up in a rental truck and set up one dehumidifier up on the living room floor, and one on the basement floor (nothing else) and then left. The next day, the Foreman *** of that crew showed up prior to the crew (again, in a rental truck). I went through everything as to what happened and where all the water was when the flood occurred. She then had her crew show up. set up fans, cutting areas of drywall out of the garage, basement, kitchen, and living room.

After everything was done from that process, it was determined that they would need to start taking up the laminate flooring in my kitchen, along with the secondary flooring underneath, to get down to the sub floor due to the water possibly getting all the way down to it. The took out 2/3's of the flooring so that could start ripping out the cabinets. As they got around to the cabinets where the sink was, the Foreman *** stated she wanted to cap off the water pipes under the sink so that they were able to get that particular cabinet out......and here is where everything went wrong.....

The Foreman *** turned off one of the valves and capped that particular pipe off, and then claimed she "thought" to have shut the other valve off. This was not the case as she broke the pipe loose and started a bigger flood that lasted around 30 minutes which led to all that water coming out of the pipe to rush onto the sub flooring, into the living room, down my entire upstairs hallway (which was not affected during the water leak I had previously), coming through the ceilings worse than before in the basement, laundry room, garage, and then coming out of the siding outside of the backside of the house.

During this time I was outside on the phone, unaware of what was going on until my fiancé frantically came running out with the PaulDavis crew to call the fire department and that the house was flooding again. I, myself, was hysterical at this point and called the fire department immediately to have them come out. While panicking outside trying to keep my fiancé calm due to her being pregnant, I saw one of the crew members go to the city main at the street and start trying to turn the water to the house off there. I was confused at this point as to why they were going to the city main at the street, and not just to the main in the house to shut the water off so I ran inside and turned the main to the house off when the water stopped pouring out in the kitchen.

Now, with this being said, my frustration comes from the Foreman "thinking" she shut off the valve to the 2nd pipe under the sink. Had I been in the Foreman's *** shoes as the leader of that crew, if I would have ever "thought" a valve being turned completely off was in question, I would have turned the main to the house off before anything water related like what occurred didn't again. However, that was not the case and I ended up with a bigger problem than I originally did.

Moving forward, the Foreman *** called her boss and had him drive out to my house now that they were at fault for the damage of a worse flood due to negligence. When the foreman's *** boss arrived, she explained the story of how the flooding happened in her words to him (which I have on video tape), and even stated she "thought" the valve was off.

I contacted my insurance agent at *** and told her I had an even bigger issue than before, so she requested to speak with the Foreman's *** boss from PaulDavis that was onsite. I handed my phone to him and said that my insurance agent wanted to speak with him. As soon as they started talking on the phone, the Foreman's *** boss started cursing and other inappropriate things which in turn led to my agent hanging up on him. He handed me my phone and stated he would not be stoke to like that from anyone and stomped off back into my house.

PaulDavis at that point left their equipment and walked off the job site (my house) and the Foreman said that she would have a plumber come out to determine the root cause of them flooding my house as they were not going to at that point say it was 100% their fault, but possibly a faulty plumbing system (which was, and is not the case). I was told that my fiance', my dog, and myself were then unable to live at our house so we packed up what we could and have been bouncing around from our family's as we can since we have not yet received compensation for housing which we told we would (more to come when I get into the insurance issues).

The Foreman *** said she was going to have the plumber come out at 7am (July 6th) so I sho

First we have done thousands of water loss’s in our career and *** is in the top 5 worst clients we have ever had to deal with. Lets start at the beginning ...we were called out by *** as we have been on their Preferred Program for years, it's not easy to be on and stay on this program. We are held to very high standards which we maintain. After we were called out this home flooded all through the kitchen and it went into several other rooms including the basement. Upon arrival we explained the process to the home owner at which time he signed our work authorization at which time we sketch the home and indicted the damaged area. At that time we call into *** water mitigation department and relay this information and give our recommendation for what needs to be done usually and this time as well they agreed and approved our work. As part of this work we were to extract standing water which was done. The kitchen cabinets needed to be removed so we set out to do this. We were in the process of terminating the water pipes under the sink, both valves were shut off and we commenced to unhook them from the pipes, one went fine and the second one unbeknownst to us had a faulty valve, so as the pipe came off a leak happened. We do not dispute this event ...we do dispute the home owner’s version he claims nothing was wrong ...this is an untrue statement, anyway moving on, the home owner did not know where his shot off valve was (if the valve was not faulty we would have just turned it off ). We made a call to the fire department and they assisted in the location and turned off of the water. As this was going on our people were constantly extracting water to keep the water out. Within an hour or so we were right back to where we started, the water was extracted and drying equipment was back in place. During this time the HO called his agent who get my mitigation manager on the phone and proceeded to berate her and accuse her of incompetence and continued on with many, many curse words at which time she handed the phone back to the home owner and continued her work. The next day we had a plumber go and fix the faulty valve and the home continued to dry. We normally dry a home in 3-5 days depending on severity. This home was dried in that time frame. There was no additional damage and the faulty pipe had nothing to do with the home owner not being able to use their home. In fact, the home owner did nothing but complain that he had to live there without a sink and cabinets. This was part of the original plan and the faulty valve did nothing to enhance this. Every single day that this was drying the home owner came up with new things he claimed we did to his home. One of the things he claimed we hit his truck in the street and he had video. We said great. If one of our people did that we want to know so please show us the video. Needless to say the video was non-existent. Then he claimed we scratched his lawn mower in the garage. Again no evidence of this. Every evening he would call our mitigation manager and ask questions and be generally ok, but would always call back several hours later and berate and curse her out. According to my mitigation manager, he always slurring his words and seemed to be intoxicated so she would hang up. He constantly complained that he should be making money off this claim and was telling us it was our job to help him get extra money. At which time it was explained that we can not do any of that as that would be insurance fraud. He then threatened us with a lawsuit and calling the Revdex.com ...we told him he could do whatever he felt he needed to do, and he filed this. It took a long time for me to respond as I seriously considered filing a slander and defamation suit against him, and still may do so. His adjuster agreed with us that there was no additional damage based on the leak and saw the faulty valve. The plumber agreed that the valve was faulty and said the only thing he might have done different was turn the water off at the main valve before detaching the pipe but as this has never happened before, when it happened we did what we do which is clean up water damage. The home owner incurred zero additional damage and the insurance company paid him just like normal. There was no more damage and it cost him no additional monies outside his normal deductible, and from what I was told he was provided ALE from *** which is alternative living expense which is normal when a person is displaced from there home. If he chose to pop around to relatives to save that money that was a choice he made.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: I assumed from their unprofessional attitude throughout the entire process that they would try and place blame for their actions on the innocent (as they have in other Revdex.com Claims) home owner. The fact of the matter is I have video and audio, along with photos of everything I mentioned months ago in my claim.

One last thing, before claiming someone was intoxicated (as you so politely stated in your un-spell checked, very "educated" response), how about drug testing the entire company as this is later evidence my security footage picked up.

I have exhausted my energy enough over this situation and I have no reason to claim things that did not happen. As far as I am concerned, I have corrected all the damages caused and hopefully others will be hesitant before picking this company. There are plenty of company's that would at least right their wrong.

Sincerely

I entered into a contract with this company to do exterior work on my house on May 3, 2018. The work was supposed to take 7-10 days for completion. Now, 7 months later, there are still things to be done: about 13 things I believe that are on the punchlist that they will not provide to me. I paid half of the total: $17,976. The contract states that the second half would not be due until completion of job. I have been getting harassing communications from them, asking for the balance, when it is not due yet, because the job is not complete. Now they have put a lien on the property. They have given every excuse in the book for not completing the work, they promise to show up and then don't. There are nail holes that need to be filled, painting that is to be cleaned up, the porch was stained during wet weather and is tacky to the touch, it needs to be sanded and restained properly, there are two posts on the front porch that need to be wrapped. Mostly touch up work needs to be completed.

Paul Davis Restoration of West County Response • Dec 05, 2018

has been extremely difficult to deal with, she ask for things to be done not in her contract, she wants things extra that are out of the norm then doesn't like the result, the stain was not applied in wet weather we told her the wood was still "green" and needed to dry out some before staining ....she said she wouldn't pay till it was done ...she asks for post to be wrapped in PVC her contract calls for 4 to be wrapped ...4 are wrapped ...she wants lattice painted ...its not in the contract ....she want us to fill nail holes with Chaulk ....not normal but we do it to satisfy her ....it doesn't .......she claims we wont give her the punchlist .....complete lie ...she claims we hound her for payment ....a lie again ....whenever we complete what she wants ....she adds to it ...its never ending with this women ....she filed a ridiculous complaint .....she adds new work every day and says she wont pay till its done ....at her rate we will never be done because she keeps adding free work
