Review: We met the Manager,Lisa DiMaio, on November 23, 2013 to discuss possibly renting a house from her property management company. The house was listed as a 1500 Sq Ft house with washer/dryer hookups, full basement, hardwood floors, side deck and big yard; for $800.00 After discussing some of the maintenance, cleaning, and move in issues with her we signed a lease beginning on January 1, 2014. The conditions included a thorough cleaning, repairs to some of the windows, doors and electrical, and the property owners property to be removed from the premises; so we would have access to the full basement, as advertised. Both parties agreed to these conditions. On January 1, 2014, we moved into the property. Immediately we had to contact Lisa DiMaio about the cleanliness. The team hired to clean the house did no do their job and they had to revisit the property. In addition, there were numerous maintenance issues ranging from electrical issues to repairing holes in walls. There is also the owners property still sectioned off in the basement. I have contacted the Landlord, Lisa DiMaio numerous times about the issues. She often times does not return my phone calls or waits for me to text her before I get a response. The cleaning issues eventually were resolved, much thanks to ourselves. The maintenance issues are being resolved slowly.Today, Feb 26, 2014, I contacted Lisa DiMaio again about the owners property. I stated that we are paying the $800.00 to utilize the entire space and we are unable to use it. I asked her again when the property will be removed. She said she did not know. I asked her if we can negotiate on the rent since we are not utilizing the space. She stated no...Desired Settlement: I would like this to be public knowledge so that other tenants will be wary when renting from this property management. I would also like your assistance in resolving the issues with this landlord so that she can hear about her unprofessional business practices.

Response:
AT the time of signing the lease Mr. [redacted] walked through the home and was told that there were parts of the basement that which are not included in the lease. There are materials in one side of the basement of which the owner will be using to finish the basement; which were neatly cleaned and stacked. Also BEFORE signing the lease Mr. [redacted] was told that the owner had ONE room in the basement that was blocked off and they would not have access to.
Upon moving in, Mr. [redacted] called stating that the kitchen was not cleaned properly. I personally went over to the home after the call to observe and immediately had the cleaners return to do a more thorough cleaning; apologizing for the inconvenience. Paul DiMaio LTD has acted upon every maintenance request that Mr. [redacted] has submitted in a timely manner. Paul DiMaio LTD did have to pull our maintenance crew from finishing some minor maintenance tasks for a short period of time when we had a week of 0 and below degree weather and our company was faced with many people without power, water, and broken water pipes. As soon as the temperatures rose and issues were resolved our crew completed the list that was requested by Mr. [redacted].
I am sorry that the tenants are upset but we have resolved all issues that are in our control. We respectfully request that the Revdex.com withdraw this complaint as this is our first complaint in over 20 years of us doing business and we pride ourselves in customer service.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Lisa Dimaio didn't try to resolve any issues that I have complained about. I will have a notarized letter from a third party member that was with me on the date we looked at the house to show that Mrs Dimaio hasn't done things that were agrees to before signing the lease. There are still things that need to be fixed in the house like the window in the basement that have not been done.

I have a list of items that need to be fixed. Door bell doesn't work, outside light on side and back of house don't work, electrical in one of the rooms in the basement doesn't work, basement window needs to be replaced (maintenance man told mrs dimaio that it needs to be replaced already and it still isn't done), and molding in spare bedroom door way is still missing. Thanks for your time.
