Paul's Refrigeration Reviews (4)

To whom this may concern,
[redacted] did contact me regarding repairs for a used SXS refrigerator that she acquired from an abandoned property. After checking the unit I determined that it had a complex sealed system failure that would cost in the range of $400 to $600...

as the customer stated. in addition it was not possible for me to determine what other issues this unit may have since the customer did not know its operational or repair history.
My main concerns were that this model is riddled with design flaws. It is subject to manufacturer recalls, repeated control board failures, etc. I was hesitant to commit myself to what I suspected would turn into a continuous series of complaints ending in refunds and losses for both parties involved. I tried to convey this to the customer...I was not trying to scam her as she has stated. I was offering sound advice based on my experience, and she could have contacted me regarding her concerns prior to writing you.
Since my visits do cost me travel time, I do hope customers will compensate me in most cases. It was her option to dispute the charge at that at time, however, she made payment without hesitation.
In light of her dissatisfaction, I will issue a refund for the disputed amount of $63.70. I hope this will close this matter.

Review: When I called for someone to come repair my refrigerator I asked do you repair newer models? They said yes how new I told them about a few yrs. they said we can definitely fix it. We can be there Monday. I said ok. I was told there is a service charge of $59 but if we fix it the charge comes off your total. I accepted. The repair man checked my fridge and said it has a system failure that would run for about $400 to $600 to fix. I said go ahead and fix it because it's still cheaper than buying a new fridge. He said I don't have time now. I said come tomorrow he said I don't waste my time fixing these kind of refrigerators. I told him I'm paying you to fix and I did make an appt. so I don't understand. He replied this is new model and it's not worth fixing you are probably gonna run in a few more problems down the road. I said let me worry about that maybe down the road I'll have the money to buy a new one. He refused to repair and charged me 63.70 for coming. If he wasn't going to fix why come why charge me when I told him I would pay for him to fix it and paying the service charge wouldn't had matter because at the end it was worth it. If he didn't know how to repair a newer model he should of said it over the phone or the moment he laid eyes on it. At that he didn't even take a good look at the fridge. He wasn't in my home for more than 5 mins. Telling ppl he can fix things just to come to their house deny repair and charging them to me that is a SCAM.Desired Settlement: Fixed refrigerator or my 63.70 back and I will pay the $400 to $600 he said for repair.
