Review: Business was contracted by my insurance company to chrome plate a rear wheel for my motorcycle. After several weeks, the wheel was sent to the shop with a gold tint to it. The wheel was sent back. The owner, Jim, said they would try to re-dip the wheel. They re-dipped it and according to the owner, it came out streaked. He wanted to try another method. After several more weeks, the owner called and said "it's better than it was" and he was shipping it today (Wednesday, August 26). It did not ship until August 31. When it arrived at the shop on September 1, I went to see the wheel. It still has a yellow tint to it in the corners where the chrome did not stick...there is no chrome in these spots. I have been waiting 3 months for my wheel, so I told them to mount it, so I can have my bike back. I am VERY unhappy that my wheels do not match. I was in no way going to give Paul's Chrome Plating another chance as I have already been without a bike for 3 months. They did not return phone calls and were negligent in keeping me up to speed on what was going on.Desired Settlement: I do not feel that me or my insurance company should have to pay for their substandard work. I am paying a $500 deductible to get my bike back to the condition it was in before the accident, and they are apparently not able to do the quality of work that they promised.

Review: In May, I called Paul's Chrome Plating and asked about services. I spoke with them about chroming 14 car parts for me. They quoted me at "About $1000". They said if I sent the pieces, that they could give me a better estimate. I sent the pieces (with insurance) to them. Upon evaluation, the quote went up to over $2500. I decided to only have 2 pieces done. Those pieces came to $520 Plus $26 shipping costs. I was told that the pieces would be sent to me late July & that I would receive a phone call and e mail upon completion.I never received either. I was also told that my credit card would NOT be charged until the job was done, but it was charged on 7/1/14, way before the estimated completion time. Since I hadn't heard from the company, I e mailed them on 8/6/14. I then received an e mail stating that the package was delivered on 7/24/14. I then called to ask why I hadn't received confirmation of any form, and to let them know that I had NOT in fact received anything. I spoke with a woman named [redacted] who informed me that I hadn't opted for insurance on my package. I informed her that I had NOT been given the opportunity, and that I had NOT even been contacted when my pieces were completed as promised by one of their employees! She said her company was not going to refund me my money, and that FedEx should have sent me a confirmation e mail with a tracking number. I received nothing. I called FedEx and they said that the company was supposed to provide me with that info. Now I have 14 pieces missing, might I add that these pieces are extremely rare and 43 years old. They are irreplaceable. Paul's is not trying to take any blame for their poor handling of my pieces. I am disgusted to say the least. If I put insurance to get the pieces there safely to them, why wouldn't I want insurance for them to come back to me, especially after a $520 job was performed on them? And why was I never contacted?? I also plan to file a complaint with FedEx for surrendering my package to the wrong person.Desired Settlement: I want the money that I paid returned, and I want to be compensated for the pieces that they mishandled.
