Spouse called the evening of 7-2-14 to request lock service. ( locked out of house) Picked a local Co. to support town business. Waited 1 1/2 hours for service. Women called first to let me know tech was running late, tech called and told me he was on his way from Hudson,MA. Tech arrived at 8:40pm and left at 9:00pm. Tech tried to get into lock but could not. He then said he would have to drill out lock. I said, don't drill and broke into house through a window air conditioner. I opened the door. Tech wrote on a slip: "Service charge (emergency trip charge) $85.00 plus 1-hour labor Customer gained access through window, tech did not gain access. $80x1.5 after hours = $120.00 Total bill was: $205.00". Tech told me the companies credit machine was down and could not accept a credit card. He needed to be paid in cash. Said he would go to bank machine with me. He had my drivers license number,( took it when 1st showed up to prove house ownership he said.) I disputed the charge with him but decided to pay him, from money in home, and visit his company in the morning. Next day found out company did not exist in town. ( They had been listed on: Yelp, Yahoo, Superpages.com, Kudzu, Citysearch, Mantra, Merchant guide, and YellowBot as being a local company.) Called company numerous times to talk to a manager. ( 7-3-14 7x's, 7-4-14 4x's, 7-7-14 1x, 7-8-14 1x, 7-9-14, 1x, 7-10-14 14x's, 7-11-14 4x's, 7-16-14 2x's, 7-21-14 2x's, 7-21-14 1x, and 7-24-14 1x. In the beginning (July 3rd thru 8th) I was transferred to [redacted] (Mgr.) who said she spoke with the owner and asked what I would want after I told her about bill, the cash issue, how tech never gave me 10% off as advertised, and how he wrote he did not open door.) I told her I wanted $100.00 back. I would pay the call charge of $85 and 20 min. of his labor. Ininally she said she agreed but would have to pass by the owner. I have heard nothing back from [redacted], kept being put on hold, told [redacted] is not there, and now their phone rings busy always.Product_Or_Service: LocksmithDesired SettlementAs stated in my complaint, I would like to receive $100.00. I think that is more than fair in payment of what they did and for their travel time. I wish they would call back also and stop hiding.
