Review: I pawned a broken platinum earring w/ 4 diamonds along w/ other jewelry at (The Pawnshop) in Modesto, Ca.& April 24th I payed off my obligation of 450, & my jewelry was returned. On April 28th I was at (The Pawnshop) their sister store in Sonora, Ca. pawning the platinum earring I was wearing (The one I pawned in modesto is broken) On may 15th I took the remaining platinum earring (the Broken one) back to "the pawnshop" in modesto asking for 100 dollars. He asked if I had pawned it before, I said yes, but when he went to look it up he said it wasn't in the computer.I thought it a little strange. He took the earring back to test it,went and talked to his boss, came back and said he could give me 30.00 I said are you joking and stated that was a platinum earring.He told me it was only 18 kt. cause he just tested it and it came to 17. something.Tripping now, I take my earring and left. I go to [redacted]p to see what they would offer me and the earring jumps up to the magnet and they tell me it is metal. Now I know what I am holding is not my earring and because it was broken I had never put it on and did not notice the difference until now.It was so much lighter than the original one and the only people who had motive, means and the opportunity were the people at "the pawnshop" in Modesto. Even the diamonds were junk I took it to a jeweler and he said they were old european diamonds that he could do nothing with cause they are garbage. So now, I worry about the other earring sitting in their sister store up in sonora cause these earrings were from my mother- in- law inheritance, an heirloom that were one of a kind made by her father's father who was a jeweler and tradition states that the first bride to marry a son, assumes ownership. Being the first bride to marry one of her three sons they were passed down to me when she died. Now because of "the pawnshop's" greed and who knows what else I can no longer continue this tradition.Desired Settlement: I want "the pawn shop" closed or at least their Dept. of Justice lic.pulled until a full investigation into this matter has taken place. I want my remaining jewelry (18 kt. gold, i.d. bracelet, a 10 kt. gold heart pendant and my platinum diamond earring out of their sister store in sonora,immediately,they can incur the cost. I want to press charges, legal & civil and have these charges heard in a court of law. If my heirloom is not returned I want to go to the news and let them know everything.
