Refundable deposit of 200 dollars made for a puppy Oct.14th. they were due to be born approximately 4 weeks from deposit date. Have not recieved a puppy to date. now Feb. 3 would like deposit back. Failure to provide. puppy should have been recieved mid January.

is a horrible business owner. He does not take care of his animals, he lies about affiliations with CKC and the registration of his animals. He will sell you a dog as CKC registered knowing full well it is impossible to register the puppy then will not refund any money.

I know people who has rescued former breeding dogs from this establishment that have obvious PTSD from their time there.

*** and I decided to put a $100 deposit down on a puppy on July 28. *** said we would have 2nd pick of the litter in 5-6 weeks time. All communication at this time was done via text. Unfortunately we suddenly had a change in family situation due to a death and we could no longer take a puppy. I notified *** of this via text on Aug 14 and I requested our deposit back to help with funeral costs. No response. I again tried to contact *** on August 15 and he finally says "no refunds" citing the "law". We were under the impression that all deposits were refundable and he blatantly lied to us. I wish we had seen these complaints here before proceeding to send money. We are so upset and the fact that he's done this to other people is sickening.

Refused to give refundable deposit back
We put a deposit on a dog and then ended up buying another dog off of this breeder. We left the deposit on the other dog just in case we wanted another. We told the breeder we couldn't handle another after bringing the one home as we also have small children. The breeder refused to give us the deposit back even though he said it was refundable. After some heated discussions, he said he would give us the refund within 30 days "as per Ontario Law". 30 days have come and past and we asked him where the refund is and he asks for our address now and said if there's any ranting, he will block us.

I sent *** (***) a refundable deposit of $200 via e transfer on Sunday April 8th. He informed me I was 5th to pick from a litter of 10 puppies, 5 girls and 5 boys. On selection day he avoided letting me pick at the proper time, then in the evening sent me 5 photos of the male dogs. Unfortunately the math doesn't work, as I was 5th to select there should have been 6 puppies and at least 1 female. *** knew 100% I only wanted a female, so he *** me out of my deposit. Now he will not return my money or my messages.

I adopted my doodle thru Paws Awhile 4 years ago. My dog is in perfect health. His temperament could not be better. I have had many dogs, and have never had one as wonderful as this. The business part of dealing with them went smoothly. I could not be happier!

Great experience. Got our *** just over a year ago. Easy to schedule to meet the pups, and our dog has the best temperament, we absolutely love him. 2 of our friends have also got dogs from *** and love them. So adorable and personable.

. He needs to be stopped. RUN from this guy. I gave him a deposit he never would send pictures or return phone calls, except to get a deposit which he has not refunded.
Someone needs to stop this guy. ***.

Over promising litters for profit by not refunding deposits, then uses the law to refuse the refund
*** of Paws Awhile Berners accepted my deposit of 200$ on July 24 2017 saying it was refundable and that he had a litter of *** , I was very specific that I wanted a tricolor puppy which is rare in litters hence the long waiting lists at other breeders. He promised me a tricolor puppy of his next litter by *** as she can produce tricolors. *** took my money and I never heard back from him. Almost 3 weeks later on August 8th I called him, No answer so I texted him and asked if there was any news he replied back "any day" I replied back mentioning by birthday was on the 13th and that would be a coincidence, there was no reply. On August 13 2017 I texted *** for follow up as it had been almost a week and no word and asked if there were pups, his was reply was "she's in labor" I said "on my birthday !" never heard back again. On August 15th I followed up with text again as I have not heard anything and asked what was the outcome of the litter ? no response. I then called the same day that evening I had to refresh *** memory on who I was and what I wanted and that I had put a deposit down once that was established he said that he had 8 tricolor puppies. This red flagged me immediately as generally there are usually only one or two per litter if your lucky hence why waiting lists are so long for these specific marking tricolored puppies.I asked for photos he told me to text him in a week as a reminder to send the photos to me. On Aug 22nd 2017 I texted *** his reminder to send the pics of the litter either by phone or email and provided him my email, I had no response. I then called him that night, he answered I asked about the photos he said he hadn't had a chance to take them as he was busy and would email them to me that week when he had a chance. I also mentioned that generally pups are ready for pick up at 8 weeks , that would be thanksgiving weekend and asked which day it would best for him for me to pick up my chosen pup he then said he didn't know what weekend it would be as he had many other litters with tricolor pups and would mix them all together and I can pick whatever I want and that he would need to decide a weekend, that was another red flag. Needless to say I never received any pictures nor was informed of a date to go down to pick a pup, I called countless times with no answer the last red flag for me. August 22 2017 I sent a polite text asking for my refund as I had a change of heart, he replied back with in 30sec "why" I did not want to say cause *** I just replied again I had a change of heart and expect that you would keep your word on the refund. well his response was "As per law, deposits are refundable within 10 days only of receipt" he asked for my email and address and said he would send it to me through his accountant told me I would have my refund in 30 days. Needless to say I never received anything when I texted him he did not answer that was Sept 15th and Sept 28 2017. On Oct 15th 2017 I called him again I had to remind him who I was, he then yelled at me told he doesn't have to refund *** as the law says its past the 10 days I told him I would report him and he went on to say ***. I went on to say how can you misuse that law when you take peoples deposits to over promised puppy litters at a much later date? how weak and shady and you know it I told him. ***.

This breeder advertises puppies online for one price and then AFTER you make a choice advises that there is a price difference based on the puppy's color! There was no details on the breeders part about difference in price for color of puppy and TAX. As well, the communication from the breeder to myself the client was very poor, I felt like I was always chasing them for information. A GOOD breeder always keeps their waiting clients up to date. We were third in line to pick a puppy and then when it came time to choose we got to pick from TWO out of litter of 10! Thats not pick of the litter. Once asked for deposit refund we had a big argument about how the money was to be refunded and when. That is not business. A good business always tries to correct the issue. After a phone call with the breeder at his request he then proceeded to hang up on us. This business is definitely not recommended!
