Sounds like another key was made by another Locksmith that works perfectIf that’s the case a full refund can be issued once I can verify that the key I made still works all the locks and turns the ignition on but not switch it off from the acc to lock position like beforeAnd then verify that another key works perfectCustomer needs to call us at ###-###-#### so we can set up a time to verify this at the vehicleThank you [redacted] Locksmithing

I am rejecting this response because: the business owner did nothing to work with me to resolve the problem.Very poor business practice - creating a defect key - and not work with me on a resolution

To whom this may concernI was called out to make a key for a 2008 Hyundai Sonata in a situation where all keys were lost.I retrieved the vehicles key code from the manufacture from the vehicles vin number and made a key based off of that information using the recommended key for that vehicle. The key...

works perfect in all locks the problem is with the ignition cylinder and this was discussed in great deal at the time the key was made.I put the key into the ignition cylinder and it turns on with no problems but when switching it off it would turn to the acc position and get stuck by the broken lock and with some work you can get the lock to finish turning all the way to the lock position and remove the key.I asked the customer and her son both if they noticed a problem removing the key from the ignition and they both said yes it's been like that and she said she want's her son to purchase a new vehicle.I recommended that the lock cylinder be replaced but that wasn't a service I provided.Everything was fine with the customer at the time and I was paid for services rendered. The next day this customer called me up complaining she wasn't happy with the type of key I sold her and she wanted me to fix in her words was a key problem. I explained to her that the problem was with her ignition lock and not the key.I explained that if she thinks its the key she should have someone make her another key and if that key works the ignition to switch it from the accessory position to the locked position without any problems then that would be proof it was the key and not the lock.  I would test out my key (the key I made her and sold to her)  to verify that it did in fact still work the trunk, door and switches the car on but then gets stuck going from the acc to the locked position and after proof that it was my key and another key would work I would give a full refund. This ignition is designed with a safety feature that prevents the lock to be accidentally shut off when the ignition is running, when you turn the ignition from the running position to the accessory position you need to push the key inwards to complete the turning of the key to the locked position so you can remove the key, I believe that this vehicle has a preexisting problem with the lock that has worn out after nine years of use and should be replaced.Prove it's my key causing the issue and I'll give a full refund but without proof that I can see I can not do that.
