PC SafePro Reviews (%countItem)

I was on my computer, November 5, 2019, I received a popup message that appeared to have been from Mircosoft that my computer had lots of virus' that needed to be cleaned up ASAP because it is seriously in danger (or something to that). When I saw this I panic & accepted the PC Prosafe offered for $698.90 who stated they work on behalf of Microsoft when I questioned their association with Microsoft. I did signed up for the service, immediately after doing so I had second thoughts and tried to cancel. I was told I couldn't cancel. I got my bank involved, after several attempts they wouldn't give a refund. On 6/25 and today I've gotten phone calls from this company that they are going out of business & want to refund my money. To do so, they would need access to my computer. I refused this offer.

Customer Response • Jul 22, 2020

Good morning,

Thank you for assisting in this matter. I would like to provide an update to complaint #*** referenced above against PC Safe Pro. The company has called me several times within the last couple of weeks from an "UNKNOWN" number stating they would like to refund the money I paid for their service. In order for me to receive the refund:

1) I would have to be at my computer with it on, while the caller is on the phone;

2) the caller would provide further instructions once am at my computer to receive the refund.

I asked, why do I have to be at my computer to receive the refund, can't you just mail the refund. The caller's response, "in order to receive a refund you must be at your computer so I could walk me through the process to receive the refund." Because I gave this company access to my computer I am not comfortable with any further involvement with this company and my computer.

If at all possible, please advise what I should do if PC Safe Pro calls again indicating they're trying to refund my money.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

***

PC safe pro hacked into my computer via a pop up with a loud siren type noise and the pop up that said my computer had been compromised and to call an 800# immediately. When I called the number the loud sound went away. Unfortunately I believed them when they said there was a security problem and they could fix it. I gave them full access to my computer and they said for $698.90 I could have their security pkg for a 5 year period. I paid them with my credit card. When my husband arrived home he said it was a scam and we called Apple immediately. They verified that NO security package or uploads of any kind had been installed in my computer. I called PC Safe Pro the next day (Saturday) and cancelled. I also changed my computer password and cancelled my credit card. I was told OK and that the billing office would be notified. I called again on Monday to verify the cancellation and was told I would not have to pay the $698.90 but a lesser fee for the one time service. On 3 different occasions I verified with Apple that there were no programs installed in my computer. Now I am in dispute with this company and the bank. PC Safe Pro is a fraudulent company. They want me to pay $698.90 for services NOT provided. They have a D+ rating with the Revdex.com. They accessed my computer without permission via a pop up. They are just waiting to pounce on unsuspecting people.

On December 21st, 2019 I logged on to my computer only to find a warning on my screen. It said that I was to call the number provided to Pc Safe Pro immediately due to a virus infecting my PC, and that if I failed to do so my computer would be disabled. Naturally I was disturbed by this and called the number at once. The man that I talked to insisted that my computer was at a high risk for being hacked, especially by people from foreign countries who would then have access to my personal information, could steal my identity, and perhaps download child pornography. Though skeptical, I was concerned and confused. The fact that the man on the phone could manipulate my curser and download my recent log-on history added credence to what he was telling me and convinced me to accept his offer of protection which cost $698.90. I had second thoughts almost immediately and researched Pc Safe Pro, and found out that it was a fraudulent company that had even been profiled on the local news in 2017. I called my credit card company and asked them to stop payment. They investigated and were unable to rule in my favor. I tried to call Pc Safe Pro several times at the number I was given but never received an answer.

On November 13 2019 my husband *** was on his computer and out of nowhere it froze up. Conveniently Pc SafePro's number came on the screen offering to help. He had no way of knowing how to contact this company if they had not hacked into computer and froze it in the first place. Not knowing any better he fell for their scam and agreed to whatever they told him and gave them my credit card for $598.95 I had nothing in writing or email to even confirm what they are suppose to have done. On November 14 2019 I called the company and said to cancel this and wanted money refunded. After different phone calls and telling them it was a scam they put me to their billing department the woman said okay it would take 6to 7 business days. I contacted Citi Bank and told them what happened and they said wait till it comes on bill and call back. I even had to change card #. November 29 Citi Bank credited it back to my card and disputed.Now it is back on my card end of January along with papers they sent saying that their services was not defective etc. January 30 I called 1-844-430-7553 talked to Sam he said money had been refunded he would check into it.Called Citi card they said don't contact merchant. I called Pc safepro # on my copy of dispute they said it had been recharged to my account December 10 2019 so they could not deal with me on this matter since I had dealt with Citi Bank about this. This charge was back on before I even got notice to send letter to Citi on my behalf which was sent to me on January 20 & I returned February 3. I had no emails or proof of cancellation to prove I cancelled it only phone calls I made which I can't show proof just dates. So who do I believe ? I just want my money back and to let people know not to fall for this type of scam.
