I purchased a new lap top April 2015. When I was down loading windows I got notice that my computer had a virus and directed me to this PC expert who do told me they could clean, protect and provide lifetime (10 yr) security for $499.00. Now August 2015 they call me that I have a trojan virus and it would cost me $269 more to reinstall the security. I told them I already paid for the life time security and won't pay more so he said $169.00 I told him I felt scammed so he said he would do it for no charge. He would work on my computer and call me back. He didn't work on my computer and didnt call back. Just talked to my husbands coworker and they did the exact thing to him. They tried to do it to my son when he bought a new lab top but he didn't fall for it. I spent $499.00 and got nothing. Feel like a fool.

Review: My wife, Judy, ordered Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013, along with an external hard drive. On January 30, 2015, she went to www.office.com/setup and entered the 25-character code. The message on the screen prompted her to call 1-855-602-7992 for help setting up this program. The technician that answered her call advised her that she had a Trojan that affected our internet connection and it would spread to the other two computers that we own. She was told we needed to get that fixed and for a total of $963.00 we would have lifetime protection on all three computers (provided through PCExpert247). Obviously, we purchased this protection and it was installed (debiting from our account on February 2, 2015).In early March, we had trouble booting up our laptop. My wife called PCExpert247 at the number provided on their January 30, 2015 invoice. The technician who answered the phone was unhelpful, seemed unqualified, and his advice was to remove the battery, wait and put it back in. After doing so, She asked him what could be wrong and he stated the problem was due to static. Two days later, the same problem occurred. Before calling, she repeated the process of removing the battery but was unsuccessful. She then called [redacted] and they remotely performed service on the laptop and were able to resolve the problem. She made copies of the invoices and they state one year of support and four years complimentary support and service for one device. She called PCExpert247 to request a refund because we didnt receive adequate service and the invoice doesnt state lifetime protection as we were originally advised on January 30, 2015, for all three computers. PCEexpert247 offered a refund of $327.00 but it would take 90 calendar days. She was told that her initial call should have gone to a special technician due to our contract specifications. She called them 06-15-2015 and was informed they do not refund any money after 30 days. Harry is the owner of the company and after a long conversation he said we would get my money in 90 calendar days, again. She told him to refund the $327.00 to my account and he said his bank couldnt do that. He put her on speaker so he could continue working. She did not hang up and finally a woman named Nancy said I would get my money in 15 days. She asked for an email confirmation and she said I would get one when my money was refunded.Desired Settlement: We would like to have at least the $327.00 refunded. The whole $963.00 would be nice due to the fact that we are both retired and have a limited income. I would also like to have this complaint filed so that other people will not be taken in like we were. there isn't a listing for PCExpert247 in Winston-Salem, NC, but that is the address on their invoices. The payment was made on my debit card, but that isn't a choice on your form.
