Peace and Serenity Partners in Parenting

Last March I hired a doula, *** of Peace and Serenity Partners in Parenting, LLC www.peaceandserenitybirthing.com
We had an initial meeting at a local coffee shop and long story short, I hired her while paying the full fee ($765) up front (there was an incentive to pay all up front). I loved that I was helping support a woman who owns a small business (I also used to own a small business).

Fast forward a few months, it was very difficult for her to find a time to come over for an appointment but finally did. The contract agrees to 1-2 appointments to go over the birth plan. With Adam being a first time dad I felt it was a great way to get prepped.

Fast forward to July 21st: ***'s birthday. The doula told me, via text, that most likely I wasn't experiencing labor and to get in the bathtub. Being my 3rd birth experience, I knew the baby was coming.*** should have been at our house for this part of the labor. We headed to the hospital. I was already 8cm dilated! The doula barely arrived in time for me to push. Pushing was all of 10 minutes and then 30 minutes later...she was out the door! Poof! Never to be seen again.

She never came for a postpartum visit like the contract agrees to. Never even called or texted to see how we were doing. Nothing! I contacted her, her girlfriend and/business partner text me (never called!) to say*** was sick in the hospital. I got the run around and a month later (last October)*** promised a partial refund check would be mailed to us. I never received it. She currently is ignoring my inquiry.
