Sadly, this incident has occured. A groom's cake was destroyed in transit.
However, after many attempts to resolve this issue,  explainations of the delay in a refund, I have agreed to refund the Groom's Cake personally. I had requested more time as it is harsh times for me personally personally/financially.
Apparently, this is still unacceptable to Ms [redacted]
Although there have been several mis-statements made in her latest response. I refuse to argue. The contract was not cancelled. I will be happy to provide the entire contract gor your review.

In response to Ms [redacted] complaint, I would like the opportunity to defend my business.
Firstly, the Groom's cake was created - however, was destroyed in transit, due to an inevitable event. As I was trapped in horrible traffic over 2 hours away from the venue ob the afternoon of this particular wedding. My husband and my sons were then to deliver the [redacted] cakes. The vehicle uaed for transport ran into some car trouble, causing the air conditioning to quit working. This causing the cake to basically melt.
As a professional, I tried to suffice the best I could at that point to provide the Bride with a grooms cake.
According to the event coordinator, this cake WAS used. Including the pieces which were left from the bottom tier Of the original groom's cake.
IncIncluded in the price of the Groom's cake - was a bottle of [redacted], which was also provided and consumed. The price of the Groom's cake was $150 - $40 of which was The charge for the liquor Bottle.
AlthAlthough my contract does not state I am liable For damaged cakes - I did feel bad and agree to submit a request for a refund for the Groom's  cake. However, my company is no longer a sole priority. I have submitted the complaint to our financial advisor - the request was denied, due to the fact there is no legal liability responsibilities on my behalf - according to my contract.
I had agreed to refund Ms [redacted] out of my pocket but would need more time to do so. I have also offeres to recreate the top anniversary tier. Due to the "packaging issue." Although, there was a box left with the kitchen staff.
I would appreciate the understanding of the Revdex.com - in this business, accidents sadly happen.

Regards,
I too agree that this is a sad situation.  Bottom line, I paid for a service that I contracted with Peace of Cakes for, not only on time, but early in good faith that I would receive it and I did not, therefore, I am entitled to a refund.  I would be happy to provide not only the contract but all email correspondence with owner which led to this complaint.  Previous emails made promises of payment that never happened which led to me filing this complaint.  As far as I am concerned, this complaint can be closed but with the understanding that I do not feel like it was resolved in a matter satisfactory to me.
