Poor unprofessional service Escrow agent failed to inform me of additional taxes until the week of closing Excuses and apologies were given If I lose this purchase because of their incompetence I will be seeking damages although seeing the star reviews this company has I'll probably have to take a number Find another title company! There are good ones out there

Too bad zero stars is not possible We dealt with them on an escrow matter, for a home we were trying to sell Totally shady First, the reps are opaqueNo one will tell you the process or proactively update you You have to go out of your way to request information or updates, and they answer questions in a very narrow way -- you need to cross examine them Then, when it was time to actually get our escrow? They sat silently on our money for over a monthThey were telling the other side they had released it to us, but of course they never did When I inquired, they made up some story that "they needed more forms" from the other side Only when I threatened legal action did they come clean"we did additional research and are now going to release the money" Research LOL IMO this is not just a deceptive business practice it is illegal I am happy jump on a phone call if anyone wants to learn moreSTAY AWAY

My complaint with First American Title is the way they dragged out the escrow processI was told a closing date of Friday and was completely prepared for itNot until the day of closing was I told that things are getting pushed till MondayMonday rolls around and once again, I'm waiting on someone from their office and told TuesdayI spent all Tuesday waiting by a phone and not till 4:pm do I finally get a message saying signing is now late WednesdayI will now not get my keys till ThursdayI took time off work for the moprocess which was now wasted timeEveryday I was left in limbo which caused me to waste entire days waitingIf at any point they would have upfront told me there was a huge delay I could have gone back to work and saved valuable vacation timeBut everyday I would get told nothing but maybe's until near the end of business day and told to try again tomorrowTo force someone to put their life on hold for a week is borderline unethicalI don't know if it's a company standard or just the escrow officer I got but please be wary about using this company in the future

I have been involved with 6-closings this year (my company finances flipping houses)First American Title (FAT) was by far the worst closing experience I've hadMy lender had issues getting the title fees and information in a timely and accurate mannerMy insurance agent had issues with titleFAT tried pointing fingers at both my lender and insurance agent but given the overall experience with FAT I am confident they were the reason behind the issuesAllow me to highlight them:
We had an open title on the property, we had to remind FAT multiple times to reflect our open title in their fees, otherwise they would have overcharged us by around $
I had multiple conversations with my closing assistant (never did get a hold of the closer) over both email and phone about different feesOne fee quoted was the escrow fee of $I was told several times, including up to the morning of closing, that this fee was $When I arrived at closing the fee was $I asked why and was told it was because they didn't realize it was "for sale by owner," even though I had told the closing assistant that fact all alongWe called the closing assistant, who asked us to continue with closing (our notary had another closing after us) and she would look into it, talk with the closer, and get back to usShe never got back to usI called the closer the following day and left a voicemailShe never returned my callI called the manager, she was dismissive, did not take any responsibility, and insisted that her staff does a good job, returns calls, and customer service is a priorityShe also contradicted herself and told us blatant lies regarding conversations I had with people at her company in an effort to point blame elsewhere
After we finished signing documents, we were told to wait for our closing assistant to review the documents and send to the lenderWe were left waiting and alone for over minutes, until we finally decided to leave
Closing took around hours
Both the closing assistant and manager were rude, dismissive, and unaware of key facts that they should absolutely be aware of (iethe need to pay for points separately in order to write them off for taxes)I can't speak for the closer, as she never returned my voicemail
This is only part of why I will not recommend First American Title to anyone, but this review is long enough alreadyLike I said, I have significant experience with closings and title companies and I will go out of my way to avoid using First American Title and I highly recommend to others to avoid them as well

First American Title Company (FATC) was selected as my title company (for my property sale)Before completion of the sell, I owned the property at W Carson DrBuckeye, AZ I bought the property as an investment and after repairs my real estate agent (Barbara McCormick) placed the property on the marketI signed a contact with the buyer on Sept 17, 2017, I was initially contacted by FATC (Dana Mahler) by email on Sept 21, At this time they sent me my opening package with documents that required my signatureI signed, scanned and returned the documents by email on Sept 24, On Oct 6, FATC (Jena MKissinger) told me that I need to stop by their office to sign more documents and to please bring my driver's license, I agreed to a 1:pm appointmentI arrived at FATC Scottsdale office (NScottsdale RdSte 110) on time and signed all the documents that was placed in front of meAfter the signing was complete, I was told the next step was for the buy

Dealing with Gary at First American title has such a terrible experience! I went in on 5/30/to sign on a new home and I pointed out the forms had incorrect information and needed to be corrected prior to signingI was advised do not worry about as it fine? They stated the corrections could be fixed later? I finished signing and was advised the loan would fund today and we would have our keys on 5/31/without failThree hours later we received a call from First American Title stating the documents had a few errors that needed to be corrected and they would need me to sign again on 5/31/and it may take an additional hours for the loan to fundSo, I go back in and Gary (Escrow Officer) pulled out the paperwork again and as we started to sign he stated the name is not correct on the documents and we may need to have them typed again and reschedule the signingI expressed to him this needs to be corrected now and I have taken time off work over the last days for the errors made by First American Title and he response is he does not know why I am upset as its not his fault? Now after signing the correct documents Gary proceeds to ask my wife why I am in such a bad mood after I left the room? I would advise to stay American Title and never use Gary! Based on the other reviews for this location is seems like operating procedure for Gary and First American Title!

I want to share my experience of looking at First American Title Insurance on this Revdex.com websiteLaughable that there are negative reviews and complaints and yet the Revdex.com gives this company an A+ ratingDoes not make too much senseI summarize the Revdex.com rating system overview pages as a lot of numbers adding up to "we can do what we want"P.SI have no beef with First American Title but wanted to look up their track recordAn A+ seems far fetched to me other than being accredited no doubt comes with payment to the Revdex.com

My clients closed on 11/14/On 12/*** *** *** *** contacted me to find out if the deal closedI advised yesThey let me know they had not received paymentI emailed EO, Donna L*** on 12/for status & she responded “A check in the amount of $was mailed out on 11/14, last week I noticed that check had not cleared so a new check was mailed out on 12/21.” ORHW advised she would need to send proof that payment was originally issued on 11/so that my clients do not have a day waiting periodTo my knowledge this was not provided and now my clients have had no home warranty from 11/until now and they are on a day waiting period before it will startThis is completely unacceptable and a huge mistake on the part of the EO and First American Title! On 1/7/my clients received a letter of cancellation from their homeowners insurance stating that $is due immediately and coverage was cancelled as of 11/14/They were also told that their mortga

WORST COMPANY EVER! Beware: make sure your deed reads exactly what you are buying, according to the deed in your municipalities house of deeds, or they refuse to fix it because it's not covered by the title insurance policy!! How can THEIR own mistake NOT be covered?! After applying for a permit for a garage, we learned that they have the deed to our house as a house that's actually a block away, and on a completely different street! That doesn't include the fact that they didn't do their research about the land next to our house that they say isn't oursIn a public meeting, our township declared it ours, and they refuse to fix the problem! They keep trying to force us to sign a new deed that doesn't even read the correct property measurementsThe people we have dealt with have been the rudest people we have ever dealt with! They aren't afraid to laugh right at you I wouldn't recommend this company to ANYONEThink again before you use them!!

Cannot find words enough to express my frustration with First American Title Company Expensive, haphazard, carless might be a good startThey hide their sucker fees in real estate jargon and mountains of paperwork Shop around for price and serviceYou can't do much worse than FATCO

Mr. Transmission did top notch work at a reasonable price. Great location close to the CTrain. I will definitely go back.
