I have problem with pain in my feet , on 1/19/I see a ad in the paper , star ledger of nj , that Peak medical would give a Free consultation to people suffering with feet problem
I called the office and they gave me an appointment that same day and asked for my insurance and I gave to them but asked why the need for the insurance if this was a free consultation and was told that this is a procedureSeveral hrslater I was in the office filling paper work when a staff member came out to tell me that because of my insurance , *** *** , my consultation was not free and if I want the consultation had to pay $Since I had to go to the appointment and spend time to keep and drive to the appointment I agree to pay
I called the office back on 1/23/, and ask why was not told at the time when I called for the appointment, and gave the insurance , that the consultation was not free , they said that took time to check my insuranceI was even told that if I was no

We received the complaint from *** *** I went back and listened to the recorded phone call at the time of scheduling the appointmentI reached out to the patient, her husband (who scheduled the appointment) spoke for herIt was discussed with *** *** that the initial phone call was
recorded and was listened toIt was clearly explained to him that due to Federal guidelines we were unable to give a FREE consultation to anyone with *** insurance*** *** agreed to come in for a BILLABLE exam anywayAt the time of the visit, one hour later, they gave a copy of the insurance card which turned out to be an *** ***, which we do not acceptAnnette, our staff member, immediately went into the waiting room to explain the situation and offered an exam at $150, which they agreed to*** *** acknowledged the conversations but still questioned why it was not free for his wifeEven though we feel we did everything appropriately in this situation, I still informed *** *** that we will refund his $We do not wish to have any unhappy patients and feel the refund should rectify this situationThank you
