Pearce Brothers Pecan Crackers

Unable to come to an agreement with Pearce Brothers about having them refund me the funds I paid for two machines that do not work as promised.I purchased two machines on June 10,2014, a small pecan cracker and a large pecan cleaner, these machines are suppose to crack and clean all varieties of pecan nuts. I sent the money for the machines in a cashiers check and then I received the machines a few weeks later. Upon arrival the machines that Pearce Brothers sent me did not work as advertised and as they had reassured me they would. I tried contacting them many times by phone calls leaving messages as I would not get an answer. After several attempts I finally received an answer by [redacted]. He asked me to send him a pound or two of the pecans that I am using, which I did. We then got in contact again and he then confirmed that their machines are not compatible with the type of pecans that I am working with. He agreed to refunding my funds and for him to send the shipping company to pick up the machines at Pearce Brothers cost. I requested to have the funds sent to me first before I return the machines as I have had many issues getting the company to return my call and find resolution to the problem. Pearce Brothers is not willing to send me the funds as requested as they alleged that all companies have merchandise returned before they can refund the money. I am asking for the same type of courtesy I gave them by sending the funds first before receiving the machines. Desired SettlementI would like for Pearce Brothers to send me a full refund for the machines and shipping expenses which added up to a total of $6300.00 before they send the shipping company to pick up their machines and deliver them back to them. Business Response In response to the Consumer Complaint made on 9/17/2014 against Pearce Brothers the company would like to respond in the following manner:The machines that were purchased by the consumer on June 10, 2014 produce results exactly as promised. In a conversation with the consumer, prior to the purchase of both machines, the owner explained that there is 1 variety of pecans on which the cracker does not perform well. The consumer assured the owner that he did not have that variety of pecan and the purchase took place. When the consumer shipped a sample of the pecans to the company, after the purchase of the machines, they were, in fact, the exact variety that the owner had explained that the machine would not crack. Seeing that the consumer was not aware of the variety of pecan that he had at the time he purchased the machines, the company volunteered to refund his purchase price. As the consumer explained in his complaint, his calls were returned and, at this time, the consumer responded that he would like to keep the machine. A short time later the consumer called the owner again and asked for a refund. The owner explained that, as stated before, the company would refund the purchase price of the machine and send a truck to pick up the machine as a courtesy. The owner explained to the consumer that, as with many other reputable companies, it is required that the merchandise be received in an acceptable condition prior to the refund of the purchase price. The consumer was not satisfied with this response. The owner's commitment stands that, as soon as the machines are returned in an acceptable condition a refund of the consumer's purchase price will be mailed to him. Just as the consumer mentioned in his complaint, he sent the cashier's check and received his machines, as promised, a couple of weeks later. As in the original purchase of the machines, the company must first receive the product before payment is returned.
