Pearl Insurance Reviews (%countItem)

It took almost 2 years for the Insurance Claims department to get me an answer as to my late Mother's insurance. I spent a number of times going to the court, hospital, contacting my mother's medical doctor's office and Pearl's 3rd party directly. I resubmitted information several times and was also given misinformation that was a colossal waste of time. After countless emails & an unprofessional attitude, I asked if it was standard protocol to take so long with a claim and received no response. This is not a good practice, especially for someone who is grieving.

I've attached email correspondence. There were many emails over a long period of time and I was given the run around. It wasn't until I file my first complaint that I even received a response.

I have been heavily solicited back in February 2017, by a Pearl Carrol Insurance Salesman, Scott ***, who was eager to gain my business. He drew up a contract for me for Renters Insurance through Travelers Insurance company. He quoted me $125 per year for this insurance with an initial payment of $20.83, and $9.48 thereafter. I agreed to these terms considering that the price was so reasonable and fit into my budget. However, this is not the case since Travelers has charged the initial payment of $20.83 and $16.00 per month thereafter. I reached Scott as soon as the first charge hit and he was willing to look into the matter and promised to get back to me, which he did with no explanation as to why this happened. He was surprised himself and stayed that he would have his underwriters look into it. I have yet to hear anything and each month that I reach out to him via text message when the $16.00 charge hits and he ignores me or has me on block. This highly unprofessional of an agent who was so eager and pushy for my business that serves as a representative for me. I have not contacted Scott this month when the charge hit because he ignores me and decided to contact you at the Revdex.com. I have a history of all the text messages from the beginning through July.

Pearl Insurance Response

To Whom It May Concern: We are writing in response to the above-referenced complaint. Pearl Carroll is the broker of record for the complainant’s Travelers Renters Insurance policy. The policy became effective 2/14/2017 and the annual premium is $125.00, as Ms. correctly references in her complaint. Her initial payment of $20.83 would leave a balance due of $9.47 per month based on 11 monthly installments. However, she elected Travelers Auto-Pay option, which is subject to a minimum payment of $15.00 per month plus a $1.00 service charge per installment payment. Therefore, her monthly payment is $16.00, and her policy will be paid in full within 7 months. Unfortunately, her initial Pearl Carroll contact, Scott ***, left our employ shortly after her policy effective date and we were not aware of her attempts to contact him via text. We contacted Ms. by phone on 8/18/2017 to review her billing concerns and believe the matter has been resolved to her satisfaction. Please feel free to contact me at *** or *** if you have any questions. Sincerely, Elizabeth *** Senior Vice President, Enterprise Care
