The vehicle came into our shop to see why it was having a hard time shifting Our Technician got into the vehicle and took it on a test drive down the Richardson going 55MPH and the hood flew open We are very lucky that no one was injured during that time We notified the customer, who informed us that he had just had extensive body work done on the vehicle and the hood was one of the things repaired Understandably he was upset, but we explained to him we did not even touch the outside of the vehicle only the handle in which to open the car door We requested the contact information for the shop that had performed the body work and the owner came to our shop and the two shop owners and the customer talked The body shop owner and John P [redacted] offered to split the repairs three ways, $apiece for repairs, that way no party was blamed, and the customer’s vehicle was repaired The customer denied wanting to do that, and insisted that Pearson Auto was responsible for all costs, and he would have his vehicle repaired elsewhere, and would later submit us a final bill We feel that we tried to work in the best interest of all parties involved and that was not satisfactory The customer has now decided to use slander on social media, and to sue with small claims court

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:Sincerely,*** *** So what started out as a great experience at Pearson's Auto ended up a complete disasterI brought my F-in because it was making an awful ticking noise and sounded like a diesel truckMy error code also illuminated stating, "PCamshaft position timing over rded bank 2." After taking it to Pearson's, they got me in and called me back with a diagnosis fairly quicklyThey explained ...that my cam phaser/timing chain and guide needed to be replaced, and the grand total was $3300+I specifically asked Kristy if this would fix all of my problems, (rough idle, ticking noise, engine code error) and she replied, "Yes." Rather hesitant because of the big job, I ultimately decided to go through with it in order to fix the few, but serious symptoms I had (rough idle, ticking noise, engine code error.) I mean after all, it wasn't no $job, this was $3300+ we were talking about, why wouldn't my engine be running immaculately after this, and their swift diagnosis?? So I took her word for it, and gave them the go aheadIt took 1/weeks as they explained it would to order parts and attempt to repair my truckAll was replaced that I was quotedAll should have been repaired including my loud diesel ticking noise symptomI got the truck back after my second attempt, (the first attempt had something to do with an oil mess they made on the engine block.) To my suprise, the noise was exactly the sameAfter contacting Pearson's, Kristy told me that I didn't bring it in for the noise, only the error code, and they only fixed the items related to the codeI informed her that the items in question were written all over the receipt, including the rough idle, diesel ticking noise, and the engine code errorI also reminded her that she told me all of these items were attributed to my Pcode and she said they would be fixed for $3300+After realizing it was on the receipt, she said let me see what I can do..After talking with John, she continued to explain that they only fix the primary problem and that my noise was from an exhaust leak that was a separate issue, (but was all of a sudden a new diagnosis over the phone)..yet this was my source of noise the whole time. After "understanding my concern," for the $3300+ job that didnt fix the problem she told me to bring the truck in so they could see what they could doI immediately drove back out there, and gave Kristy my key and before I sat down, she said we can't get to it till tonight, so once again my truck sat overnight, only to get a call the next day explaining that it was indeed an exhaust leak (that was already told to me over the phone) and that it would be an additional $to fixSo for a grand total of $4K....I could get everything that was supposed to be diagnosed originally done right the second time aroundWhy is it, that I paid that much money and all I had to show was a truck that has the same exact symptoms and a cleared error codeI made the mistake of reading the good reviews, and thought Pearson's could handle this job, but it's quite obvious they couldn'tLost a customer for years to come because they made a communication error as admitted to me by *** *** over an extra $500.The sound was always the sameHere the truck is currently with the attached videoIf anything it was misdiagnosed it from the beginningDoes this sound like a truck that just had $3300+ worth of work???

the customer bought us his vehicle for "check engine light and tapping sound and sounding like a diesel."  The check engine light fault was for over rdation of bank 2 cam timing, there was also a knocking sound and tapping sound coming from excessive timing chain play and it contacting...

components inside of the engine. the customer was quoted to repair this problem and gave authorization for the repairs to be completed over the phone.  The project was returned on time. After returning the vehicle to the customer he mentioned another concern of a popping sound, we asked him to bring the vehicle back and we diagnosed at no charge a leaking exhaust manifold.  The manifold was not removed during previous repairs.  At the time we told him that normal price to repair the fault would be about 850 but to provide customer satisfaction we offered to make the repairs for 500 dollars. The only way to please the customer is to do the job for free.    The customer asked multiple time that we make the repairs at no charge to them, we can not offer these services at no charge due to the cost involved with the job. John P[redacted]

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. My car was damaged while it was at their shop and they have admitted to driving it while it damaged. How is their shop not responsible for damages? I've driven the car several times since I had work done on it last spring and the hood never flew open on me while I drove it. I even drove it to Ft Greeley for work one day and hood never flew open on me. There was road construction and lots of bumps and still the hood never flew open on me. Mr. P[redacted] wanted me to accept $500 for damages. I told him there was more damage to my car then that and I would get estimates to prove that and I did and went to his shop to show him the estimates. I have not slander his business on social media, I left a customer review on my experience at Pearson Auto. Everything I said on there was the truth on my experience dealing with Mr. P[redacted]. That is not slander. Sincerely, [redacted]
