I spoke with the customer, *** *** ***, Wednesday (August 10th) when I received the letter from you describing ***'s issue. I spent minutes on the phone explaining to *** that he had the wrong ISBN activation code for the practice test of the product that he had contacted our tech
support help desk and customer service about. This is the reason why they could not assist him He had told me that he had received his copy of his book from his work and the card that was in the sleeve of the CD was the one that was given to him. He did not have a receipt of purchasing the book so I could not verify what he was saying was correct as none of the other books (for this product) had the incorrect card in their CD sleeveI told him that the card he had was not for his product and is no good I gave him a code to activate the practice test engine (complimentary code) for the book (ISBN) that he said he was trying to activate. I walked him through the registration process and the installation process of the practice test engine. I also gave him the information on how to contact us if he has further problems with the practice tests He seemed upset when I explained to him that he needs to make sure that the book ISBN and the ISBN on the card (that is in the CD sleeve) match if he is given any more books from work because it makes it hard to track the purchase, check on the product in our warehouse to make sure that there were no other instances like this and that it really makes it hard for someone to assist him because what he was asking for did not exist (having a card and a book with two different ISBNs) He seemed satisfied at the end of our conversation Please let me know if more information is needed to close this case Thank you, Vanessa E*** Editorial Assistant Pearson Education / Pearson North America E96th Street, 3rd Floor Indianapolis, IN O: F:
