evaluations for all types of circumstances to all types of patients. We have specificinsurance contracts and are not able to contract with all insurances. We have guidelines in place for ourfront desk staff to determine what to do if an insurance is presented that is not one that we participatewith. Being a self-pay is always an option, which was presented to you, as a flat rate fee of $180.00. Careis never denied, there are always options.Our nursing staff and doctors have extensive experience in pediatric healthcare, and are among themost talented and experienced Individuals in pediatric emergency care in Western New York. All of ourCriticalCareRegistered Nurses currently work,or previously worked, at a Children's Hospital, in the ER,ICU and NICU. We hold all of our clinical staff to very high standards and make sure that their traininganf education Is ongoing. With thatsaid, it is expected that anyone who enters the facility with acomplaint that falls under our"redflag list," regardless of insurance, is evaluated by one of our nurses. Ifyour child was looked at by a nurse and determined to be stable, then 2 options should have beenoffered to you. The first being that we could call you an ambulance to transport you to Women andChildren's Hospital of Buffalo, the second that you could be a self-pay and we would be happy to seeyour child.l will be contacting all of the staff who worked on September 12th to ensure that someone came andevaluated your child and that an ambulance to [redacted] offered.
